I have one of the original nosram matrix evolution speedo. Is it possible to have the software updated to 2007 spec by either sending it off or a downloadable upgrade?

its not just software thats different in the 2007 spec.
there has never been a 'software only' brushless release change by LRP or NOSRAM, they have all been different hardware too.

Hi all, i have the Nosram 6.5 brushless motor with the usual bonded rotor. Is it usual to find a loss in breaking power? When the motor was new, it had loads of breaking, now it seems like you are waiting for it to stop. Will the motor be to blame or will it be something else?
thanks, john

If the motor has been run at high temps. multiple times, then the heat can reduce the strength of the bonded magnet. This will give you a softer feel to the brakes.
I've not had it happen on mine, but it really depends on the heat level in your car.
Double check your gearing to ensure that you've not been stressing the motor to much.
Also worth checking the program settings on your speedo. For 4WD I normally run 2-4-2-1.

Hi Phil, My speedo settings are the same as yours. As for the heat, it never seems that hot but i am often wrong! Would it be that i need a new rotor as i seem to lack breaking from the start of the race before any heat has built up.
thanks, john

You could need a new rotor, if you've got another Nosram/LRP motor, try swaping the rotors over.. The excess heat will effect the rotor permenantly, not just while it's hot.
