Hi
Built up my version2 of the cougar and gave about 1.5mm of play in the nylon gear in&out movement from the gear box is this with other cougars or just mine.
Any mods that i should know about?
Thanks

you assembled it wrong, take it apart and start again.

I wouldnt worry about it too much, as you will only have to strip it down and change the gears in 3 or 4 races time:thumbdown:

3 packs and the gears will sound like a chainsaw...

Yeah, you built that wrong!

Grease the gears, they last a lot longer, and are quiet too.

I use white lithium grease, but Tamiya ceramic grease is good too, and Schumacher supply an 'axle grease' with the gears now.

I have raced my v1 cougar sv for 6 months every friday and have never had any problems with the gears , well apart from the layshaft pins and the initial bad mesh sound ..

you must have built it wrong :(

Mine did it from day one dude. No worries.
Mines never had any of the gear probs and it's from the very first batch. It'll be fine.

Do what most of the other cougar drivers do....Fill the empty box it came in with spare gears, bearings etc!! Or do what many others are doing or have done...Buy an X6:thumbsup:

At least my steerins done on the track not pushing my broken car along the floor wishing it would work!! In seriousness though the cougar is an awesome car, amazingly fast and nimble at our indoor track and has obviously proven itself in the rc world. Wont the x6 gearbox fit the cougar;)
