tolworth radio car club

hi guys about 4 years ago i was on a cource i in tolworth in london after getting off of my train i was early and decided to go for a walk when i stummbled across this permanent rc track on the main road which inspired me to get back into the hobby i decided i would get to a meet there at some stage anyway i never did just recently ive been looking online and this club seems to have vanished completly anybody know if its still active what classes they run and when ,and if they have a new website now as the old 1 no longer works thanks guys:thumbsup:

Hi

The track was part of the Racal (Decca) Sports and Social Club. Racal were then bought out by Thomson (French electronics company) and renamed Thales.

Thales corporate weren't really interested in the S&SC and it became a private venture supported by its members.

Unfortunately it wasn't sustaonable and the S&SC was flattened along with the loss of the car club and football pitches.

It is now another Powerleague 5-a-side centre.

Sorry about the long rant, the S&SC was part of my life for 35 years having had many family partys, other functions and football matches there over time :cry:

Thanks for that glad I didn't load all my gear and head down there spontainiously now are they racing somwhere else or has the club folded compleatly now
