HI folks,

I am trying to dissassemble my car after last weekends muddy racing but I'm having trouble removing one of the pins from the front wheel hexes. It just wont budge and I'm slowly destroying the hex with my efforts. It may be that I just have to dremel it out and buy a new hex but I'm just wondering if anyone has any tricks? I've tried heating it up but still no cigar. I need to get those bearings out to soak.

Cheers

How have you secured it? Should just put a bit of thread lock on it just to hold it and stop it from dropping out.
It should just push through with a thin driver or a body pin. Shouldn't be that tight at all.

Ihad this problem last week but with the rear ones, once they bend it's very hard to get them out. You need to try and twist the hex to straighten the pin, they should come out a bit easier then.

if the pin has bent, which i can only imagine as being very hard to do on the front, then just get a thin hex driver and just lightly tap it through with a small hammer.

That is how I'd do it.

Is it just caked with mud and stuff? Has it gone rusty?
