Just a short one to let you know that we will be having a work party at the track this Saturday in order for us to continue preparation for the first Winter Warmer meeting on 7 October.

As usual, there is some weeding to be done with the strimmers and then we shall spray the strimmed area with weed killer. The main straight has had this done earlier in the year and is now weed-free so it looks like we may have a good system in place which should reduce our workload in the new year.

If we have enough people present, we will begin looking at clearing the space at one end of the track where the large scrutineering hut used to be. Our plan is to put in a new one that will cater for a couple of scrutineers as well as help clear some of the materials and tools out of race control.

We hope to catch up with the landlords to find out if the catering wagon will be open on Sunday 7th as it has been up and running for the footballers with hot drinks, burgers, etc.

If anyone is planning to make it, please can they add a short reply under this message so that we can prepare a little in advance.

Many thanks

EPR Committee

What are the hot tyres for the EPR? 2WD in particular.

Schumacher Minispikes on the front and rear. Yellow compound in the dry and Green compound in the wet/damp.

We have run Schumacher Stagger Ribs (Yellow) on the front of the 2WD in the summer when it was very dry and high bite but don't think these will be necessary for the winter. ;)

If anyone has any other questions, please feel free to ask...

Thanks to Jimmy, the club now has its own section on oOple!!!!!

Back to the work party though and we will be down in force preparing the track for this Sundays winter series - the first of our winter warmers.

We have decided that a couple of the unused infield sections would benefit from being turfed to bring back up the height which will eliminate the lip against the track edges. Steve Andrews is kindly going to work out a price to do this seeing as he is a landscape gardener.

Jon, Nath and Andy started to clear the designated area for the scrutineering hut so that can be worked upon although it is clear we are going to need a digger of some kind to clear the bank and make access a whole lot better.

More weed/grass clearing this Saturday AM as well as checking the new loop. Still got to put a shelf in race control to handle the AMB system so plenty to do...

Food wagon should be open if we are lucky!!!
