Hi, placed a small order with Demon last tuesday. Item was confirmed as being dispatched on tuesday 28th Sep, but i hadn't received anything by friday so i tried to call them. I tried several times friday and have again tried today with no response.

Anybody know if their still trading, on holiday or any other reason?

Nick is normally pretty good, try calling again, or emailing him.

one of the best shops around, not always near the phone though.
Chuck him and email and I am sure he will sort it.

I've phoned the shop a couple of times and always got a reply, probably just chose an unfortunate time to ring for whatever reason. :)

You can also leave a message about the order in the My Account bit. If you click on the specific order it's concerning you should see something about adding a comment etc, I've done this a couple of times too and Nick's always got back to me via that route.

Nick is good but often too busy for his own good. Give him a ring or send him an email, you shouldn't have any problems.

If it hasn't arrived it'll be the Royal Mails fault; Demon are superb. Just keep ringing every couple of hours till you get an answer.

Cheers guys, I have no doubt it's probably the royal fail as I know Demon have a great reputation. Unfortuntely I've still been unable to get in contact with them. I've now left an email so will just hope for a response.

Bought something large (TC bodyshell) on Thursday, it came this morning, so definitely still trading.

Im sad to say that i have still NOT heard from him despite several e-mails and numerous telephone call attempts. His customer service skills leave a lot to be desired for.

Its the first time ive ever ordered with Demon, and quite possibly the last. Im not saying for one minute that the lost item is his fault, as we all know what royal fail are like, but to resolve the problem you need to get in touch with the shop that you made the purchase from, and so far with Demon, this is proving very difficult indeed.

I must say any time I order online they are great but in the unfortunate time I had to call him, his telephone manner left a lot to be desired.

As already stated Nick is a good honest guy that runs a steady shop. If he hasn't responded it will be either he is out or busy.

Have faith, I'm sure all will come good.

(Regarding his phone manner, he's always been good as gold with me. Lets not start a downward spiral on this guy. He's supported the hobby for longer than I've been alive)

He may have been excellent with you any no doubt many others, but the reality is im still without my order, and have no communication with him since placing the order a week ago. Ive also e-mailed him twice since last friday and tried ringing about 15-20 times.

In your opinion hes great, then keep buying from him. But for myself the FACTS are that the service has been very poor. I think its fair to say that i am entitled to my opinion as you are yours, whether it be good or bad.

Im not asking everybody to join in and share their negative experiences as im sure the positive comments will far outweigh the negatives, and im sure that it will all be resolved very shortly by Demon in which case i will post back on here and confirm all is well.

The only point of this thread was to see if the owner was either a regular on here, or maybe somebody had information about the status of his shop e.t.c.

I think that has been answered, so lets keep the thread on track please and not let it degenerate into what people may or may not think about a particular shop

Ok, got a result. Had an e-mail this morning from paypal stating i had been issued a refund. No explanation from demon themselves and no sign of a replacement being sent out.

Must say i am most dissapointed with their service despite their excellent reputation.

Issuing a refund with no contact whatsoever makes me think something is not right at their end. If the middle man had cocked it up I'm sure both parties would have wanted to acknowledge each other and work it out, seems you were willing and the shop wasn't for whatever reason.

I think Demon is great from personal experience, but that does sound a bit disappointing.

I thought Nick Adams had sold a share of Demon, and it isn't solely Nick running the shop?

Nick Adams owns Demon outright and always has done. Even Demon ISP(UK) asked Nick if they could use the name many many years ago.

The only way you would get a refund via Paypal without an explanation from Nick is if you raised a paypal dispute and Paypal refunded the money as a quick solution.

At the end of the day it is down to personal experience. I am sorry to hear about your not so great service with Nick. No shop is 100% perfect all the time but would hope that Nicks services is still one of the best from most peoples comments.

Thanks.

Surely what's more likely is that 'send a refund' was clicked on PayPal, so PayPal did just that.

The fact remains this is only a tiny blemish on an otherwise well respected shop's history and I'm sure there's a reasonable explanation of why it went wrong. It would be nice to know why though instead of having it just 'happen' like that.

I find it hard to believe that anyone is having problems with Demon. I've used them for years and have not had one single issue with Nick and the service he offers.

I'm sure there's a reason (probably just out of stock) for the refund. You've got your cash just be glad of that. There's stores out there that would take the cash AND keep the item!

Interestingly, whilst this was going on, I ordered and received items from Demon, including normal communications with Nick.
The fact thomj316 didn't suggests something else is going on here as if Nick was simply 'too busy' it would have impacted on my order too.
I'm guessing a 3rd party screw up too.

To be honest I have no idea what went on, I've still yet to recieve an explanation as to why I never had my order or could not get a response.

My guess is that the item was simply out of stock, then when I emailed to ask where it was, I just got a refund instead of an apology or explanation.

It does all seem strange considering their excellent reputation, but no shop is perfect all the time, it's simply impossible.

Can we now close this thread before it becomes a mass of "demon are the best" blah, blah, blah comments. No offence but it's not what this thread was started for.

Demon is THE best :p;)

Well clearly not isn't it. Read this entire thread first and I'm sure you'll see that.

I don't want to start slagging off a shop as I KNOW they have a good rep, hence the reason I ordered from there. I also know many of you love the guy, but sadly the shop is run by a human, and mistakes happen. Once I have an explanation off Demon I may very well order from them again.

have been buying stuff from nick for years, he has always been really good and has always let me know if there is any problem with an order. he may not respond well to you if you are rude to him though, it is not in his nature really to be rude or tolerate it. those who have met him will probably confirm this

Jamie.T

I can assure you I was not rude. My first email was a short and sweet "Hi, I've yet to receive my order, can you please advise". I hate how people assume it's the buyer that has done something wrong. lol, just accept the shop was at fault as I previously said, no shop is perfect.
