As title, has anyone had this happen and how long did they have to wait to get things sorted?
I've got some electrics which have been stuck in customs for a suspiciously long time, and having looked at eBay forums etc it seems sometimes when customs hand them back to Parcelforce they never scan them back in and lose them?! Just got no idea what to do if this has happened?
How long have you been waiting? I had a package delivered by Parcelforce recently and it was stuck in customs for a week. When checking the tracking number their website just had the status of 'processing'.

If you paid by paypay dont they insure you and also if your paypal is taken from your credit card you may be protected by the Consumer credit card act 1974 sect75.

It was Paypal, the problem is Parcelforce won't admit it's lost as they claim customs have never given it back to them, and I can't get through to customs at all to find out if they have it, so the shop unsurprisingly aren't keen on me making a claim back!
It's not long enough yet anyway, but it is now 2 weeks "awaiting charges" in Coventry, whereas I have never had a parcel over 3 days before!
I have had some parcels be in customs for 10 days plus, I also had one parcel returned to sender, and that took ages.

I work in my local parcelforce depot over the summer and i will never use parcel force for any deliveries.
your parcel should of had the charge put on by customs then gone to your local depot ready to be sent when the fee has been payed.
charged parcels get put into a secure cage to await payment of charges then should be scanned to route within 24 hours, this seldom happens and i have been sent into the cage to look for a parcel before 2 weeks after payment was recieved and several complaints were made by the customer. if you have the chance i would go to the depot (if its local enough) and compain to the manager its a lot harder to fob someone off face to face.
even with your parcel stuck in customs parcelforce still have a time frame to work to and if its a special delivery (timed) they get a hefty fine for being late.
hope this helps

If u do get stung by customs there is a way of getting a full refund. Make sure the package is sent as a gift. Scan the image in colour and send back to them saying the product was yours and was bought in the uk In the 09's and you sent off to your friend abroad on loan. They have no right to tax u again so a full refund is required. I got several full refunds and enjoy winding them up.

How did you even get to speak to them, I can't get the number to work!!
It's so frustrating, I have a formal invoice I can provide, all I want to do is find out if customs even still have the damn parcel and there's just no way of doing so!!

Dave, I had this Exact issue earlier in the year. The Parcel Farce site said that it was awaiting charges - for at least 2 weeks. I kept calling them and all they fobbed me off with was that it was waiting for customs, nothing they can do - bla bla bla.
However, then the status changed to awaiting charges, and sure enough i got the letter through the following day to tell me how much i needed to pay.
Basically, when it turned up, the customs documentation that came with it, showed that it had infact been cleared by customs less than 24hrs after it got to them (which wasn't unreasonable).
So in summary, Parcel FARCE do live up to their name - and chances are, it will all be fine - eventually!

The problem you are facing dave is because of what you have ordered.
These lifelike rubber dolls have to be scanned for anything internal, especially the amish models!!!:p What you go for, blonde or dark haired?

If customs pull a single parcel or whole batch of them in for inspection the delay can be anything up to 3 - 4 weeks, as we found out recently with a multi box shipment from the USA....

Wasn't Omega was it as I am about to get my Omega serviced?
Yup had it with normal parcel force where goods turned up crushed - not our problem was the response.

They dont answer, so i wrote to customs and parcelforce after i found out who to talk to. Parcelforce give info freely and they have uptodate details of who to deal with in customs. Be nice and they give easily.

Same here!! i sold a Tamiya NIB F1 car last year for £280. Parcelforce lost it, then they tell me the insurance they sold me wasn't what it should have been, they said they were sorry and gave me £80.

Well, Parcelforce aren't being so friendly to me, I rang today and they say whilst they totally accept that it does happen that they lose parcels which show awaiting customs charges because they never scan them back in after customs, that in my specific case it is literally impossible that's what happened, cos the computer says customs has it
Even better, they say they don't care if customs say it is released to them, they'll refuse to accept responsibility even then, and that they'll never pay a claim no matter how long I wait because there's no end date on customs, eg if they've lost it, even if I can show they have, I'll still never get any money back !!
So I have a kit with no electrics (the package is an esc, motor and lipo) and a decision over how long to wait before buying replacements!
To be fair, I could still claim back through Paypal, it is a bit tight on the shop though! Plus don't know what paypals view of it will be!

Dave I feel for you mate I really do. This is however why I simply won't buy abroad, the little extra I have to pay through the UK supply chain is worth every penny to me as I can sleep safe in the knowledge that if needs be I can go and speak to the retailer face to face and that no numpty customers oinks can upset my plans.
I hope you get this sorted soon.
