So ran my 410r at Worksop and the car was quite good but annoyingly unreliable. So i thought i'd ask if there were any solutions to the issues i had.

First round, one of the turnbuckles on the steering popped of while entering the matted section. I'm using the standard 410r turnbuckles and ball ends, are there any other ballcups that fit on the standard durango balls?

Third round, Rear pin that holds the wheel on snapped, would a roll pin be more durable than a solid one?

Also, i'm running an LRP 5.5 with an SXX geared on the standard spur and a 20 pinion. The car is coming of extremely hot, what are other people geared at?

Ay up rob,

Kyosho ball cups would fit and the new ones are very very good.

And roll pins would likely not be as strong as solid pins.

Maybe you should look at going to a 6.5 mate, won't be any slower I can garantee.

I've not had any real problems with the ball joints on mine in over a year of racing it, just the odd one pops off during a big crash.

The wheel pins, replace them with some from Nortech Racing £1 for 4, I found the TD ones snapped more or less straight away, but the Nortechs last ages.

Gearing, as always, that's down to the track and your driving style.

Rob,
To break the solid rear pin, you could be bending the pin on the hole in the axle when you tighten the wheel on.
Check that you don't have much play between the pin and the dished washer. I shim mine out with either a 0.1mm or 0.2mm spacer between the axle and the inner bearing..

As for gearing
My 6.5T SP was on 24/87 @ Worksop, I run my 5.5T on 23/87 at Worksop... But now I have 50c batts, I think 6.5 or 7.5T will be enough in there.

LRP/Nosram stuff does get hotter than most, it's the nature of their motors...

So, ive changed to Schumacher ballstuds and Losi balljoints hope that solves the turnbuckle issue.

Also shimmed the axle so theres no play, that does look alot better.

And gone to an LRP 6.5, hope it runs a little cooler.

Thanks for the help and suggestions.
