Hey guys, thought I'd share with you some pictures of my 1-1 pride and joy.... Its a 1979 VW Derby (Hence my username), Its basically the saloon version of the Mk1 Polo of the same era.

I've owned it since 2004 at which time it had only done 24,000 miles - its now on about 35K.

As you can see I've lowered it, & in the time I've owned it, its had three different sets of wheels.... its currently wearing the 13" 'Smoors' shown below;

I've got loads of plans for it - but lack of funds/time & somewhere to work on it, it really is in need of a respray - its had some nasty vandal scratches all down one side, across the bonnet & boot, ever since I brought it, some rust is now starting to bubble through too :cry:

Anyway, hope you like??

Thanks for the compliments guys... I wasn't sure how well it would be recieved on here.

I have thought about getting the centres of the current wheels painted body coloured but i'm not sure the green is enough of a contrast to stand out? I've also got a 4th set of wheels sitting at home that I got refurbed - they are VW 'Scala' wheels from a MK1 Golf Cabrio/Mk2 Scirroco... think i'm going to wait until it gets its respray before fitting those.

I've got a collection of other parts - mainly engine related that will hopefully one day find themselves on the car..... Re-ground cam, CBR600 bike carbs (got a blanking plate made to start making a manifold for these), a 4-2-1 exhaust manifold, and a spare head that i'm going to tinker with..... one day, one day :(

You need some mad stuff to put on the roof rack, like maybe an old basoon, a TV and a traffic cone. Drive round with that stuff up there along with the BMX, it'll be right proper ace.

Get a bonnet from the scrappers, stick it in a fire for a bit, then fit it.

Don't listen to Ben chief, he has orange wheels on his modern car - pah.
Rat up some bolt on panels.
