Danny McGee won 2wd. Don't know about 4wd.

And give him a chance... its a hell of a long way south! I doubt they'll even be home for a good few hours yet!

Great shot with the sunlight, Jimmy.

what you actually see is cars racing on the surface of the moon...

come on Jimmy... I want to see more pics :) :P

hopefully Jimmy or someone else has caught some buckaroo action, it was classic

Oh aye! plenty of that, it was silly-bumpy alright. Cant they do something to keep that surface together ? I know its mainly a horsey place but didn't it used to be clay ? its more like sand now.

DCM

They dig the sand into the clay as it makes the surface easier on the horses joints and muscles (soft going). The only option is to water and roller it a few times.

Shame it cuts up so badly like. Also shame there wasnt more jumps, the one in there could have been mistaken for where they planted the AMB loop ! :D

I think you've got it! Water and roll. And here we thought it was rock and roll...

That's what we do: Water it and roll it, often with a vibrating roller. Sometimes we add some calcium chloride, sometimes sugar, depending on what kind of dirt you've got. Usually just water. Roll it first, then water. Wait till dry and repeat.

Then, if you're in the southern part of the US, let bake in the sun til rock hard. Run lots of cars with Pro-Line tires to lay down rubber. Presto -- blue groove!

In the north, Holeshots, X 2000s, or Big Shots forever. Keep an eye on the sun and the track. Water lightly as dust gets bad and/or weather dictates. Know how your track will absorb water and/or evaporate under all conditions of sun, cloud, and wind. Presto -- fun in the dirt!!!

I think the biggest issue is that Tiverton club only gets the venue the day before so they got to try to roll it and lay a track at the same time.

What an awesome weekend!!! took a bit to get used to the track as it was my first time there, but on both days i just went better and better, really cant wait to go back there and have another go:D

I actually quite like it when it cuts up, when the surface is concrete hard its all at bit 2-D, a bit like saloon racing.
It's very difficult for the club to put big jumps in. It took 4 hours for them to get the track as it was. Even in the small hump there is alot of shovelling, it's surprising.

I have to say thanks to :jimmeh for the loan of the lense that many of these were taken with. Mine should be here from Ebay this week so I'll not be scrounging again.

i enjoyed the track even if it was racing on the surface of the moon.

It was just a shame the gremlis that are affecting the losi moulded graphite components reared their ugly head again.

on the plus side i've found a strong wishbone on the downside i found another moulding imperfection in the front of the chassis this time.

Not bad going so far 4 meetings = 2 smashed chassis and 7 wishbones all with moulding problems

Some of the pictures when the sun was coming thru' the windows were with my 70-210 F4 but the bulk of them was with the 50mm.

Chris, I was in two minds whick of those two to post, so I put them both on. The one digging in shows how difficult the surface was, but yeah, the other is fair slideways.

Great photos again Jimmy some of them seem to be the 'perfect' RC photo, like the Danny one and the one after that. Just a shame none of them are of my car, that's what happens when you're in the same heat I guess! Didn't take you out at all did I Jimmy, I can't really remember now?
