Looking to have a bit of fun at the track:thumbsup:.maybe start a new class at our club, but want to keep it cheep. So does anyone use the ansmann truck and what is it like as its nice and cheep, but a bit small, The HPI blitz looks good and the rtr isn't a bad price unlike it's full comp brother! or do I just fall for the sc10?
Main thing is to keep it cheep as if starting a new class the worst thing to do is pull out 500quids worth of truck then try and sell the hobby to a possible new member....we can do that with 10th cars all day:lol:

cheers
Dave

Hi dude. I have the rtr blitz with my own electrics in and it's great. It seems pretty tough and easily just as competitive as any 2wd sct. Parts seem to be really easy to come by and above all else it's a proper giggle when you've got a busy heat or two of them. Great distraction from all the 10th buggies. Much more relaxed. We all run 10.5 motors in them to keep it sensible although a lot of our lads are trying different Tyres with varying results. Mine is on kit Tyres and I hope that's how it'll stay.

I did loads of comparing and talking to other drivers on this dilema. In the end i went for the sc10 as it's now available brushless rtr.All hpi owners seem to go through diff outputs cups like mad due to wear on the slots even with 10.5.Sc10 needs different wheels front to rear but you only need kit if racing indoors and kit fronts outdoors with the hpi kourse kings on astro or grass.Spares are ded easy.i race hpi cyber 10b buggy outdoors and spares are hard to get(suppliers can't get them)so keep that in mind. Both trucks are v-good but some still have pro's and cons.I would go for the most popular one at the meeting so you can exchange set up info and spares, hope this helps.

Hmmm I have to admit I do like the blitz but I have never ordered HPI parts before so unsure of supply, but AS parts I have ordered on and of for 20years and have to admit I never have been told anything was unavalable

I have a Blitz, and have found no problem getting spares. Another plus is the plastic that HPI use, it can take a lot of abuse

Now have a Blitz rtr as I wanted to start a cheeper class if poss, and so far for the money...well impressed:thumbsup: had 6 lipo packs around the rallyx track,on a very cold day no breakages and I gave it some hard:o. quick enough with the speedo/15T motor for the money, steering servo seems ok, no KO but hey for the money just the job

Only thing it could have come with is an over tray, I have a JC one now, that I can recomend to all, as with out one things can get a little wet and muddy under there:woot:

If I was to get into 2WD SCT, I would go with the SC10. Proven winner, parts and aftermarket parts are everywhere. Is avaiable brushless and with a 2.4ghz radio.

You may as well add the Losi Readylift to the list (Losi finally do a XXX-T based SCT after their first abortive attempt, the Strike, based on the High Roller of all things, was scrapped.)

As for Ansmann, you'd be better looking at the Team C TS2 (http://www.tcmodels.net/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=742&category_id=18&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=71) - I'm not sure if Ansmann will bring it into the UK, but it's a full-size SCT (as opposed to their more 1/12th scale version).

Associated, HPI, Losi, even Ansmann...there's a glaring omission from that list..come on Tamiya, get your thumb out!
