Earlier this week I bought my son (Lewis) the following as part of his Xmas box

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190470188852

Got the delivery free on that, so was £150 all in.

I then got to thinking that it might be worthwhile buying something for him to practice with before we unleash him with a brushless buggy and then I could use it and if I get interested it could be a cheap starting point so I bought this

Did i get reasonable value for money with these?

Also at least we will have some ready spares if he has an accident or three which he undoubtedly will.

I bought him a balance charger that can be used with both AC and DC so he will have the basics to get started, he is itching to have another visit!

Hi Andy,
Yes I think you got a good deal, you got an ARTR B4 for £92, you would be paying £80 for a madrat/Xpro new, but you would still have to buy all the radio gear ESC etc.

You were bound to pay more for the newer B4.1, but it came with the battery, better brushless motor and extra wheels/tyres, still a great deal.

Try and follow the setup info in this thread HERE (http://www.oople.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1049), when you get the cars. Don't worry if you don't have the bits or aren't sure to what the setups are referring we will help you when you come down.

The B4 is a great car especially for beginners and still wins titles.

Unfortunately we are not running this weekend (centre closed due to boiler failure) or next, but come down on the 12th if you can.

Look forward to seeing you then.

Thanks for that link Ian, will read and digest.

I read you weren't racing this weekend and he has a football match next weekend (if the snow clears) so we might well pop down on the 12th and watch some racing to see how things are done.

I'm quite looking forward to it too and he is already bugging me for some tools and a toolbox. He is still oblivious to the fact that I have the car and it was good for him to hear people recommending the 2nd hand B4's. Kids being kids he wouldn't have taken my word for it but he heard the people who know say it :)

See you then!
