Hi all, im a new member thats been away from the RC scene for nearly 20 years, so im a bit out of touch. About a week back i dug out my old box of mostly Cougar parts and amongst these parts ive got a few bits from an old Pro-Cat i once owned and would appreciate if somebody can identify them for me please.
First up are these, i think MMS diffs that are little used, if used at all. i originally thought they were both for a 4wd, but now im not sure if ive got a front 4wd diff pulley or one for a 2wd? It measures 12mm wide to the outside edges.

And secondly this alloy diff pulley, does anyone have any info about this also?

The diff on the left in the 1st picture is a CAT/XLS/PROCAT item. The one on the right looks like it might be for the original TopCAT 2WD car (its too wide to fit in the front of the 4WD CAT et all).
The alloy beastie is a new one to me, but its cut for 3 belts like the MMS item, so...

Hi! I'm ATM restoring my second Vintage Cougar and I'm missing half of the (upper) ilder roller for Cougar belt driven tranny. This is a bit showstopper as it seems I have no time to mould or machine an replacement.
Would you happen to have such part in your heap of Cougar spares? I'd be interested to buying it.

Thanx for your reply Stretch, i too as thinking the rh pulley looked a bit wide for a 4wd, tho on the schuey forum ive been told otherwise, so i really could do with a definate ID from someone and to find out who made the alloy pulley.

Hi Brian, ive recieved a few PM's about these diffs so what i think im gonna do is stick em on ebay when ive found out what the rh pulley is for, so i can sell em either as a pair or individually.

what is the width of the narrow pulley?. i`m pretty sure i have a mms layshaft for a cougar and the toothed/spline part is 14mm wide .

For the RH pulley to fit a CAT/XLS/PROCAT, it would need to be less than 10mm wide, so TOPCAT (single wide belt) still looks the most likely, but early Cougar could also be a possibility (same tranny).
HTH :)

Thanx Stretch/brian s, its making a lot more sense to me now and after looking at kaszal's Pro-cat the rh pulley has deffo gotta be for a Topcat/Cougar.
As stated the outer width of the pulley is 12mm and with a width of 8.5mm between the raised teeth the 8mm wide Cougar belt ive dug out fits inside a treat. Tho what i didnt realize is that these MMS items have a very slightly different tooth pitch to the Schumachers:o
Heres a pic of kaszal's (Sorry i didnt ask for permission, so i hope you dont mind me using it kaszal)

the layshaft has had little use with no wear visible and will fit the standard belt. i also have an RWracing 90t 48dp tufnol spur in good condition to go with the layshaft.

The only problem is i have tried to run a belt from my og Cougar and another from my Cougar2 around the MMS pulley and they both seem to be OK around the first say 6 or 7 teeth, but anymore and the belt starts to ride over them. Now ive tried these belts on a few Schuey pulleys from Cougars and CAT's with no problems at all. Does anyone have any info about this cos im drawing a blank on this one:confused:
