Help needed dex410

Ok after finishing my build I noticed that the middle shaft from the rear would not turn properly
It's was bloody thread lock
Tried boiling water nope
So then heated it up on a flame this has worked.
But now I can not get the grub screw out tried drilling still no luck also tried to push the pin out no luck there either.
I need to get what's left of the grub screw out some how as I don't want it to be like this for racing.

No ur right mate it is but the question how do I get the grub screw out. Everthing else ok tho.

Doe's sound like abit of a mess if you've tryed drilling the grub screw there will be not alot left of the grub screw to get the allen driver in ?

I think the only thing you can do is keep drilling it till your able to get the pin out then replace the barrel , grub screw and pin with new ones

The Durango threadlock is VERY stong stuff you only need a very small amount on

I would also take all the other driveshafts out and make sure you have'nt done it to the others aswell

Strong is not the word,thanks Paul I was going to order those just in case was so pixxed off 1st build in 20years
Have checked all the others they fine.
And I used so little to.

If you drill the grub screw with a drill that is less than 2.5mm diameter you shouldn't damage the thread, as long as you keep it centered. Then the bits that are left should come off with a blade or something like that.

Yea done that but think ive hit the pin and it's tough as old boots.

I only use it on the driveshafts any other screws that need threadlocking i use differant stuff so that i can get them undone again !!

good tip off with the thread loc. I'll be building my durango later this week!

Been there, done that. But i managed to get the grub screw out after heating the threadlock with a lighter. Since then I've only used blue threadlock and it's strong enough imo.

If you use Acetone to remove tyres from wheels, try soaking the offending CVD in the acetone for a couple of hours and that should start to dissolve the threadlock.

Personally I would have done this before attacking it with a drill but I have only just seen the thread.

Failing acetone, nail polish/varnish remover should do the trick if you are ever in the same situation again.
