I would recommend reading the radiocontrolzone thread as theres 70 pages of info that discusses every concievable change and mods you can do as well as where you can buy spares from including shells from the link below kamtec.
All zx/zxr/zxrr use the same gearboxes, pivot blocks, wishbones, steering, one way, hubs.
Also since the zx was released i got every copy made of the chassis and towers and steering with fibre lyte. Zx-5 wheels fit.
Personally i preferred the zx standard design first chassis as the weight distribution was better than the other cars. The mk2 had a different layout and a shorter top deck and didnt work well indoirs or on high grip surfaces whereas the orignal worked well on both high and low grip

LA-16 is the chassis on the Lazer ZX and ZX-R
LA-60 is the chassis for the Lazer ZX-R Mk2 and ZX-RR.
LA-60 moves the batteries back to change weight distribution. They aren't interchangeable as it needs a different top deck, motor mount and rear deck mount than the ZX.

If you need parts, as Welshy already said, both chassis are still available at Fiber-Lyte.
Standard Zx (and Zx-r MK I)

The wishbones are the same in all the Lazer Zx series car (including the Lazer Zx-s).
