My nimh batts are getting quite hot when charging, is this normal?:confused:

yes they do get quite warm, depends on how you are discribing "quite hot" if you mean as in to hot to hold then have a problem with the pack

can hold but are quite warm, just some i bought from the bay as dont have the budget for lpos, thanks for the help mate

what cells are they? what you charging at? i always charge nimhs at 1c i.e 4600 mah 4.6amps

the pack thats gets really hot are intellect SC-4200, the charger is an ansmann that fast charges at 3000mah. To be honest they could be screwed as that can happen when buying someones second hand batts

They can go up to 42 deg
6. Use a temperature cut-out as an additional safety feature set at 42 deg. C max., located on the hottest cell (usually middle cell). If charging on a cold day then consider reducing this to around 35 deg. C.
