Right Getting a SX2 Pro

Happy new year to all
A bit of advise thought long and hard about a 4wd was looking at a durango but as i run a cougar seems to be more sense as stick packs fit etc,same wheels some parts fit.

What i would like to know what parts to fit on the car while building it alloy transmission mounts,fab system,alloy steering,new idle gear setup etc rather fit while building then get it and strip it to fit.

So all advise welcome

Also on the subject does anyone know if there is a new car around the corner for the season rather wait and have a later car.

I've been running one for two months now, the main thing to fit is the alloy steering set up as the plastic set up simply isn't up to the job.
It should come with the new idler gear set up now, thats how mine came.

I have just been looking on ebay at a new unbuilt sx2 s1 kit is this the same as a pro apart from the graphite chassis and shock towers,also looks as it has alloy lower gearbox housing is this right,is it worth buying the s1 as i think i saw that team drivers fit a s1 chassis,but as we race on astro thought a graphite would be better.Dont mind which kit but dont want to buy the s1 if the pro would be better to start with then fit the s1 chassis if,when neeeded.

I bought a Pro before it was obvious that the S1 chassis was the way to go so I priced up an S1 and upgrade v's Pro and I'm pretty sure it worked out cheaper to go Pro & get the S1 chassis for where you need it.

am I correct in saying the only difference b/n the 2 kits is the shock towers/chassis?

wouldnt he be better off just buying a S1 kit and be done with that. Unless the pro kit offers more goodies, which I cannot figure out as it only states the 2 differences in chassis and shock towers.

You're right that's only difference for SX2.
Depends on if you're planning to run graphite chassis. If you do then pro kit is better option, if not, S1 seems to be better choice.

Sorry for the dumb question guys, and I hope Im not hijacking this thread (first post on this forum!) but I have just bought a CAT SX PRO from a guy on here.

why is the S1 plastic chassis better than the c/f one? I would have assumed the pro kit was better in every respect? (like graphite, c/f is always better than plastic, no?)

FAB system, Allows the fine tuning of the amount of braking applied to the front wheels. This allows heavy braking going into a corner without the understeeer caused by locked front wheels.

If you look at the exploded diagram for an SX2 then there are S1 versions of all the carbon parts - chassis, shock towers, battery strap, top plate, steering plate & suspension mounts. I can't say for sure whether they're all fitted to the S1 or not but I'd guess they are.

From what I understand it's only the chassis that's swapped back to S1.

Personally, from a cost perspective alone I'm trying the S1 front shock tower as well since I prefer to land on it rather than wear the front tyres out....;)
