Normal meeting this Sunday and I'll have a go at the new track - HELP...

I'll also be on hand to work through any teething issues with the laptop.

First time out with the Durango, so if it all goes wrong I'll just run the meeting. Tamiya 511 will get it's first run at Petit (plus it's not finished!) and Cougar SV has been cleaned ready for Petit...

Looking forward to it.

I'll be there on Sunday:thumbsup:. Just finished rebuilding the front left side of the car after smashing it up last weekend(not caused by the new track or markings but my bad driving!!).

Well, I got my imax B6 balance charger through the post today so I can charge on site.

Looking forward to race for the first time, the only worry is I have only got 1 battery pack 3300mah Nimh. Just hope the charging between heats will be enough to last the day?

I'll be there, and having realised I had my speedo throttle limit set to 60% last week I'm hoping to be going a bit quicker this weekend!

Shame you can't join us Crazy.

Indeed, but like I said, will be down and will find time for a bit of chat/banter (delete as appropriate)

Clarkie, I blame you, I've had to endure the Bloody Gaslight Anthem albums on repeat now for over a month.

Durango was OK broke the servo saver again so ordered the Tresery option part,(not arrived yet) Steve looked very quick with his but he could drive any old s__t around and spank everyone there.
I like the Durango even though it's broke the same part twice, just made a few minor setup changes as Lionel was to close for my likeing :p
Bring on the banter Crazy.

Wylie was B Final champ last week, putting me and Crazy to shame. Have to see how it goes this week, but if you are quick again you may want to keep an eye out for loose wheels :woot:

Yeah got one on my Rango.. ran it today with 0 issues.. and had 1 or 2 large clipping the pipe moments. It's not very cheap, but saves time and £ and anger
in the long run!

Just wanted to say a big thanks to everyone for today's racing. Was my 1st time back to Torch for a while and with a new car (Durango)=Love the thing.. 2nd in the A first time out.. think may get on with it well:) The new track/layout is very nice! and with a few very demanding sections.. which is always nice. Hopefully with the addition of another roller/ jump or 2 maybe even a ripple section? to break it up a tad. And can be removed if needed.. couple of small poles under the astro?.. anyway! a BIG THANKS to all the guys, you have done a great job down there and should be very proud. Look forward to being down very soon!

Yeah my first time out with the 410R too and have to say I really like it. Think I'll be running it at Petit instead of the Tamiya 511. Just a bit warey of the servo issue going indoors etc. Maybe I can get both of them ready!

Got a tough Savox 1258 in there

Trying to update the results, but getting ftp errors on certain files :( (command line time...)

Didn't have enough rear traction on the Rango and need to sort out the gearing on my SP 7.5 with Tekin RS Pro. Half tempted to change it for a Speed Passion

jamiekerr14
09-01-2011, 04:11 PM
Yeah got Tekin RS and SP 6.5T in mine.. seems more than plenty!.. Yeah may invest in the lower weight skid.. as hate the plastic one's. And specially when its a tad icy and wet.. back end could have been a tad more planted.. so may try one for next time. Yeah I would get the servo arm.. no heard of anyone have issues after putting one in tbh.. cant see any harm.. just need to be a tad more careful regarding the servo's.

mikeyscott
09-01-2011, 04:21 PM
Did think about the rear weight, but didn't fit it.

What else have you upgraded?

Indoors for the 410 this weekend with I expect big jumps. Eeek

jamiekerr14
09-01-2011, 05:20 PM
Um well it came with the front Alu holders and Alu Side rails

I have put on:

Plastic Side guards
Servo Arm
Atomic Carbon tower's

Thats about it..

mikeyscott
09-01-2011, 05:22 PM
Damn really wish I'd seen the car now as I'm looking at the AC towers..

Mine so far
Alu front and rear hinge pin holders
Ghea pistons
various gold washers
Losi ball cups
Schumacher ball studs

Next up is P5 diff o ring

jamiekerr14
09-01-2011, 05:57 PM
Yeah tbh the towers are only because I trimmed down the R tower's like some do. And stupidly mucked it up, so people recommended the AC one's. There not cheap, but look and feel very good quality.. got the new rear one with the added camber hole.

Yeah I think I have the basics thats needed covered.. next are smallish thing's.. that are nice to have... probe new cups ect too.. as 1 popped off after racing..

Was the track the same as last time?

Dry or wet?

Well, looking at the results and considering it was my first time racing, I dont think I did too bad.

At least my mad rat was still in one peace at the end of the day and all in all I enjoyed racing at Torch.

Thanks everyone for helping me out and explaining how the heats, rounds and finals run.

Looking forward to racing next Sunday.

Icy to start with but i think it was drying quicker than last week but not by much.
Found a few problems with me car when i got home mainly shock related.
Maybe next week i'll move up from the B final :eh?:

Guys

The track was wetter and did not dry anywhere, the grip level was much less than last week.

The 410 is a little unpredictable at high speed cornering, either need to start doing some set up or run the tamiya next time?

Good day and well done to everyone for being there usual relaxed group of racers.

See you in 2 weeks.

Thanks Steve

The shock bottoms with the ball stud in had stopped pivoting so the shock could not pivot properly makeing the return very slow, also going to try without the shock boots on.
I thought the track was a bit drier but there was a lot more green fuzz on my car this time. I did'nt see rooster tales of water coming up like last week and my car was drier, but hey what do i know about it i'm rubbish :woot:

MrMagoo

Definitely wetter this week once the thaw happened. Car as all over the place till I found the magic tyre combo (and stopped driving like a tw4t:thumbdown:). I managed my first pair of eight lap runs, so was made up with that... had a couple of good scaps with Cammers to sweeten the whole thing.

Big thanks to Mike, Steve and everyone else involved in running another great days racing.
