HI all
Looking at not spending a fourtune preferably but isn't an radio set an investment like a good servo?
Im after a nice 2,4 wheel system.
At present I have a cheap 2.4 £20 kit from china that works fine at the moment.
I have been looking at these even tho they are still on the cheap side

What do you think.
I have also won an auction and there is a spektrum DX3E with 2 recievers on the way but done a bit more reading and its only got 1 model memory. How do I get it to work on 2 models? Is it a case of rebind every time? Or moving the reciever each time
I also have a 2.4 system in my merv 1/16 so also thinking about getting another reciever RX for that.. Can I put in a lipo in that reciever from traxxas?

Personally speaking I don't think that buying another cheap chinese TX is an "upgrade" from another cheap chinese TX that is working just fine for you.
The Spektrum's tend to be well liked, although if you are regularly swapping from one car to another then the lack of a model memory on the E will be frustrating.
If you are looking to "invest", I don't think you can go wrong with Futaba or Sanwa.

If you are just using 1 car, the Spectrum DX3e is a good choice (about £70)
If you want to have multi-car memory there is the Spectrum DX3s (about £150)
There is also an Etronix EX3g pro for £60 that might be worth a look

I could just get another DX3e then Ill have a spare for that price
Double the price for multi car memory?? It would have to do more than that to be worth it. Ill have a look
Im not after a stick radio, prefer the wheel
After a little reading it seems I can have different cars with the DX3e just need another RX cool
MODEL MEMORY
The DX3E can be used with multiple models that have the same type of Spektrum receiver without rebinding every time you switch receivers. For example, the DX3E can be used with multiple DSM receivers (such as the SR300, SR3001, SR3300T or SR3500) after it has been bound to them. The DX3E learns the receiver GUID during binding and knows which receiver it is connected to. So when you switch to another receiver of the same type, simply turn on the receiver and transmitter and then double check your servo direction, travel, and trim and you're ready to go

That will work - the main advantage of having a memory is that you wont have to re-adjust the trim or end points when switching between cars. But it does indeed cost double!!!
