Guys,

Please help as I'm confused!.

What depicts a driver from different classes?.

I know of National, F2 and an F345 Championship isnt there? but how and who determins who and what and where?. That's before you get to the European races etc.

Purely for info as I'm never likely to every get there

You can only get a F-1 from the Nationals. The top % decides this.
You can get F-2 from Nationals and Regionals. This depends on how many people complete the series.
F- 3,4,5 comes from regionals.

Ok so you also get local club racing where you can go do what you like and regionals. Where and when do the regionals occur?

Can you compete in Nationals or do you need to prove yourself locally first?

You can only gain or improve your F grade at Nationals or Regionals, Not club racing, it has to be a sanctioned BRCA event/series.
Of course National series are easy to track, but Regional series are far more local, there are no specific boundaries, but regionals take place all over the country, perhaps the BRCA website will give you the existing regions and you could see if your close to any.

A good example is TORCH, they are not south east nor are they the south or the south west as the r/c scene in those 2 regions is small, the SE is far better, but at the moment TORCH is a good club without a region.

Of course to be recognised by the BRCA clubs/tracks have to be BRCA affiliated.

Anyone can enter Nationals but priority is (basically) given in order of licence grading. Realistically you'd be better off getting up to decent club level first, then try some regionals (see the Nationals & Regionals section on here).

Oh I am not thinknig of competing, god no! :woot::woot:

Just trying to understand the systems in place.

BRCA website doesnt show anythnig for the south (that I can see). They have a micro site for Midland and North but nothnig for the South.

Is there one?

The South East is Booming, even though they didn't get a National...CO**S!!!!
I believe there is a South West region down by Tiverton, a small bit of racing down in Wales, but both are getting stronger, the only club in the South I know of is TORCH, and they could join either regions if they are voted in, like I said the regionals have no definite boundaries.
We don't have a specific website for us down in the heart of the country, but all the info you want can be found on here.

Surely Eden Park, Faversham and a few others are southern?

How do they get organised or notified?

Yes they are the South East, Steve Brooke is the Regional rep, he will let us know when the SE Regional meeting is, He will post it on here on contact him direct, his contact details are on the BRCA website.
There will be a south east regional series, perhaps the best/most competitive for years, the tracks involved will be voted on at the regional agm which should happen soon!!!

Dave, the boundries for the regions are pretty rigid AFAIK and to my knowledge, TORCH would become a Chilterns Mid South club should they decide to join up and wish to run regionals etc. I know the question was asked some time ago and this was the reply thatw as recieved (as to which region they would fall in)

Not really, a club can choose to be considered for an event in any region that is reasonable, but for example no point Tallywacker asking for a round on the NE series. :woot:

Some examples:

Bury Metro has held NE and NW regionals in the same year.
RHR has held NE and ME regionals in the same year.
Batley has maybe done the same.

No problem holding events for two regions if you think people will come and race, it's just the competitors that can only score points in one of them ;)

Only going by what we have been informed in the past with regards to clubs on the outer boundries of our region, some were NOT allowed to join by the BRCA others were forced to join our region against their wishes, BUT this was a few years back and things may well have changed now.....

Clubs join regions? Really? I thought a club was a club only. Maybe worth an email to a higher power to clear it up.
