Hi
Can some one explain the difference between 1/10th brushless combo's and 1/8th brushless. I have been carpet racing my 1/10th buggy for a few months now but am itching to go off road but there is only a 1/8th club in my area. I want to run a 1/8 buggy with a brushless system. At the moment I am running a reedy 3300KV combo in my Associated B4, will this work in a 1/8? Has it got the torque?
I am on a tight budget can anyone recommend what's the best thing to do??

8th brushless run bigger motors, higher voltage batteries and the ESCs to suit... you're 10th setup won't be suitable.

Perhaps the 1/8th club will let you run a 1/10th there to start out?

J Concepts J82 (http://www.jconcepts.net/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1&products_id=286). You'd need to convert/switch to a T4 then apply the J82 conversion. And then you have a 2wd 1/8th buggy which you can safely power with a 1/10th system.

However:
Its not that cheap. $75 for the J82 bits, and you either have to trade the B4 for a T4 or buy a new chassis, wishbones, driveshafts, shocks, turnbuckles etc.
Its not going to be very competitive. It will be light and fast, but all the opposition will be 4wd and that gives you a major disadvantage.
