If anyone's looking for a cheap hotel for RHR National and doesn't fancy the standard sh!tty Travelodges, then I've just booked the Ramada at Doncaster Airport (11 miles away) for £43/night using hotels.com

I know it's at the airport, but all the reviews say it's peaceful and quiet during the night. :) There's also a restaurant on-site too.

Is there going to be the big marquee for pitting?

There are very few flights at night, just the odd freight one so it should be quiet. There a few local hotels on the rhr website www.robinhoodraceway.com

Of course! Only the best for our racers!

Iv'e heard there is a lot of sand on the astro, is the sand going to be cleaned off for the National???

Smartalec

There is AN AWFUL LOT of sand on the track and after talking to James at the track when we went up for a practice and race last wednesday, he says that it won't be there on the National weekend. I do hope so as to be honest I found it terrible to drive on with zero traction on a large percentage of the track.

Just to be safe i'd bring along your bucket, spade and windbreak.

I also hear that James is hoping to make a killing on RH Raceway rock and the donkey rides that will be going up and down the "beach" on Saturday evening ;)

Yes, of course the piles of sand will be left there, the place won't have had any preparation and be looking a total dump for when everyone gets there, just like the last 2 nationals and the oOple race.

I ask a normal question and get blanked:(, Springer makes a joke and gets jumped on:p, so come on guys, is all the sand going to be cleared off for this weekend? I've heard different things, it will be cleared, another is it won't be cleared. So how's about a normal answer???:D

On the flip side, if the sand stays on the track I hear Punch & Judy will be making an appearance!!!:p:p:p:thumbsup:

Disclamer: The comment about Punch & Judy was a "JOKE" Please do not take seriously.

I seem to rememebr that last year it was BB's in the wet. Is that still the same case this year as the astro's been changed a little (i think) also, are there any more recent pics with the track mods? WOuld be nice to see how the track looks.

About the sand, i've no doubt it wont be much of an issue the guys and girls from York etc to a LOT of time into the track. We should all be thanking them :)

Anyway, see you all friday/saturday in the dry hopefully :(

In the first leg, the track has just dried out from a previous wash, But in the second leg it started spitting again so was possibly a little greasy if anything, Unsure of leg 3 conditions  We only live a few minute from the track so we were on the way home to be fed and get a good night sleep ready for tomorrow  lol
