View Full Version : Steering servo not centering

Hi folks,

I have just installed a Savox 1258G into my Schumacher Cat.
The tx is a Etronix Pulse 3ch 2.4Ghz (also new to me)

When I centre the servo and then steer, the steering returns to a random location. By that I mean that it seems to never return to centre, instead stopping a little from it.

Adjusting the trim can help until you turn the other way and then it goes off again!

Any thoughts or advice massively welcome.

Thanks. :)

Andrew

Have you checked the servo saver/arm?

I had a similar problem with my mardave, knew there was nothing wrong with the TX, RX or servo as had come out of another car, following advice from fellow ooplers, turned out that the problem was the servo saver itself, as the wrong one was fitted.

i dont use a servo saver on mine and you can see when it returns to centre it stops early both ways.ive reset it messed with all the settings and nothing works luckily i can manage with it doing that with my buggy but not my m03 or f1 so im getting a futaba 3vc 2.4ghz which is on its way so when it comes my core is getting sold as faulty unless i find away to sort it.

Andrew

I had that in my Bmax and had no problems with it and the only reason I sold it is because I bought KO to upgrade.

Hey guys, really appreciate the good answers and suggestions.
And Benjy1 - I REALLY appreciate you reassuring me that it aint the tx/rx - I wasnt going to mention your name but since you have done that, I feel assured that you arent ripping anyone off (P.S. everything in great condition, arrived yesterday - Ta!)

MattJT - thanks mate, upon closer inspection, my servo horn is very worn on the inside. Its very hard to get it to spin when on the servo if you try to move it byhand, but the speed and torque of the servo looks like it spinning it on the teeth.
I must admit, I wouldnt have guessed this without your help - the teeth look almost perfect on the servo horn, and it fits snugly onto the servo, but definately slipping.

Hopefully this will rectify the problem.
I am a new servo horn in my mouth as we speak from an old Tamiya, fits the servo very well, butnot my Cat ball socket things, but its all Ive got.
Going to try to get it working now.

I'll post my findings.

Thanks again,
I officially love oople :p

Hi again guys, ok Tamiya servo horn sorted the problem right out.
Steering is sharp and precise now (although it is DAMN twitchy and fast)

So much so, that I binned it into a kerb, ...... and the only damage?
The servo horn broke. ARGH!!! :)
BUt at least I have diagnosed the problem.

Im assuming I can buy replacement parts like a servo horn for the Savox 1258G? Never had to buy bits of a servo before.

Thanks a huge amont to everyone - it was really useful to just "talk" it through. :)
