Put me in dude.
Was so close yesterday between Nath and me, that bloody wind was the deciding factor. The mid motored Cougar certainly looked more stable than my poor B4 :-(

Had an excellent day today chaps, well done on the track, was a pleasure to drive! Car came off cleaner than indoors on a Friday night :-)
Tyre wear was also minimal, which is excellent!
A good decision to get the electrics final to marshal each others as well.
Just a few comments though which you might want to take into consideration:
A lot of the track markers moved throughout the day. On the plus side, this did very little damage to the cars (I think I only saw one 'broken' car, in the truggies final), but some of the hose, and markers just need pinning down to stop them moving during racing. This seemed more prominent during the nitro races though, and I didn't see them moving much during the electric races.
You might want to make the track a little smaller, and more 'complex' for the 10th regionals. I guess it was a compromise with both nitro and electric racing today, but you would ideally like about 12-15 laps as an ideal number over 5 minutes.
Both these points really are just niggles though.
overall 9/10 from me though! I WILL BE BACK! Well done on an excellent meeting - good luck for the future!

Thanks all you guys for coming down.
Was great to have 2 heats worth of electrics racing today.
Really made the day that bit more interesting.
Hey mark yes we will be making the track slightly tighter for the regionals.
and using more of the flexi hosing rather than the larger black piping when we run our electric meetings.
But all in all such a great day I havent had so much fun since last summer.
Thanks everyone.

No mate because I use two forums!!!!
Yes I agree a clube needs to make money!
But a nitro driver got over 50min of racing for tener!
an electric driver got 22min of racing for a tener!
where is the balance
A standard race format for electric is. 1 round of practice, 4 qualifiying and a final.
not practice mixed in with nitro cars, 3 qualys and a final.
As an electric driver you had the rough end of the stick.

Just a quick reply to AXEMAN .
The series has been heavily promoted and indeed you attended most of the rounds from last years winter series.
Everyone was made aware that there would be 3 qualifiers and a 7 minute final on the 6th of March. And a second class would cost £5.00 as clarified previously.
As for the cost to race, as others have said the reason we hold these event is to keep the club afloat.
All the money apart from club running cost’s go back into the track as you will be aware of from racing on the grass last year.
We have made huge changes to the track and purchase our own AMB system with the funds we have raised during 2009/2010.
This is not purely for the club racers, it is to improve the quality of the racing for everyone who attends our meetings and events
I personally raced three cars last year threw the winter series, Myself and BOTH my son’s. You were there Steve and witnesses me running around like an man possessed.
This cost me £30 a day, yes it is expensive but what isn’t theses days.
As for your cost being 50p per minute.
I must disagree with you Steve as the sum don’t add up to me.
If you had turned up purely for track time which your statement is aimed at you could have.
Pre-race practice 15 minute which you both used.
Your qualifying track time was ((3 rounds X5minutes) x2 classes) = 30 minutes.
Lunch time practice was 30 minutes, the track was open everyone to use which they did.
Final 14 minutes as you raced 2 Classes.
That means you could have been on the track for a total of 89 minutes for £15
That to me means your cost for your days racing was.
£15/89minutes = 16.8p/p minute if you want to be picky
or
£15/59minutes = 25.4 p/p minute without the 30 minutes for lunch.
Your daughters race time could have been
Practise 15m
Qualifying 15mins
Lunch 30mins
Finals 7mins
Total= 67 minutes
£10/67minutes = 15p/pm if you want to be picky.
Or
£10/37minutes = 28p/m.
On the other hand for the guys competing in the championship like Pete Armytage and Simon Donavan, they both had an absolute minimum of 102 minutes race time as they both bumped from the B rallycross into the A and competed in 2off 36 minute long finals.
That works out to be
£10/102minutes = 9p/pm
Or
£10/132minutes = 7.5p/pm including the half hour lunch time available.
I don’t want you to take this reply the wrong way Steve but I think your statement needed to be replied to with the fact’s so people reading this thread could see what you get for your money.
Your comment coud be seen as the club is ripping people off which is in no way fact.
The costs of racing were discussed trackside with me and I believe Nathan and I thought that was the end of it, It has not changed since last year.
This thread was unexpected to be honest.
On another note Steve, photos.
I have some photos of you and CJ on the rostrum together during racing and during the 15 minute practise.
Do I have your permission to upload them onto picasaweb and/or oople for people to see.
Pm, me with your answer mate.

Not long now from the look of it before we can start having some wednesday night racng again :)
Thinking we will just keep nights to electric racing, try to encourage some
of our members to have a stab at some electric racing lol

I'm glad to see I've rattled a few cages!!!!http://www.oople.com/forums/images/smilies/tongue.gifhttp://www.oople.com/forums/images/smilies/tongue.gif
Jamie as you know standard race format for 1/10 is
2 x practice
4 x quailfing
1 x final.
as per BRCA nationals which you pay a tener for.
I'm happy to pay that and a fiver for the second class.
but you trimmed the electrics out of the day.
Practice was scary for me let alone CJ. 1/10 and 1/8 are worlds a part!! in fact I wouldn't want to see the damage on a 1/10 after being floored on the main streight by a rally cross.
Surley if would have made sence to have a 10min practice for electric only. it wouldn't of hurt??
then an extra 1 round of qualifing again only 10min extra.
then in my opinion yes £10 for a adult would have been the right price.
Purhaps It's just me wanting to see more youngsters in the sport, but all clubs need todo there bit.
Talywain kids race for free in accompained by a partent paying full price. or 1/2 price if not.
Swansea 1/2 price for kids
WRCA same as talywain
GNR 1/2 price for kids
Cobra 1/2 price for kids
So come on ledbury lets get more youngsters into this sport.
I can remeber doing a paper round to fund my rc racing!!!
no worrys to putting them pics up jamie wouldn't mind a copy myself

From my own experience, trying to run both Nitro and electric classes of different scales on the same day, will always be a big compromise...this is just the nature of the beast. I would definately be interested in some wednesday night racing, maybe even do some of the fridays that Leominster is not racing (i.e. oval is on). We could easily get some more people down then I reckon! What does Jamie and Nathan think about Fridays?
mdb_75

I'd be up for alternate Friday night racing in the summer! Wednesdays not so much as it's too close to Ludlow's racing on a Tuesday.

Guy's this is what the club wants and need's, positive input.
I see absolutely no reason why we couldn't run on Friday nights.
I'm sure nathan will see the above post and we will seriously consider it.
I have three huge floodlamps ready to go in my shed, again something planned for the future, Maybe sooner than later by the sounds of it.
The days are drawing out now so evening racing is definately on the cars.
