When I got a couple of front axles for one of 'em from Moozo(cheers mate),
I never thought about the nuts.
The things are Imperial(well, probably AF)not metric.
What size are they actually?
Would any of you jolly gents maybe have a couple spare?

Hmmm,I see,plastic eh?.
That could be the way forward then.
How do I know if they're FT stubs though?
They seem to be of a normal steel material, certainly not Ti,they're too heavy.

ft ones have a screw which goes into the axle where as the normal ones like what i have use a plastic nut which goes over the thread that sticks out past wheels/bearing
have a look on ebay mate or local shop the only a few quid and get about 8 in a pack
i dont think ive ever seen a b4 with metal front wheel nuts on however i could be wrong:thumbsup:

If they are threaded for a nut, it should be a 5-40 thread.
Or just use the plastic nuts........

They are threaded for a nut Mick.
I get the idea with those plastic nuts, you just screw 'em on and the stub axle's thread taps the nut out.
I'll have a blat over to our local fastener stockists and see what they have in a 5-40 nyloc nut first.

As mentioned, the standard nuts are AS6222 (plastic).
These are designed to be used on 4-40 OR 5-40 so on a 5-40 are quite tight.
AE do have a 5-40 locknut. It's used on the slipper for a B4/4.1, although I've never used them myself for wheel nuts.

the plastic nut may seem a bit naff but they are the most reliable. they almost never come off unlike a tired nylock.
