Sorry for the announcement at round 3 (last Saturday) regarding the cancellation of round 5 of the Kyosho sponsored, SRCMCC's winter series at MOTO ARENA.
Round 5 is "BACK ON" due to another double booked event being moved due to the rising demand of the off road series.

We have a fantastic range of drivers attending our winter series from beginner to experienced to legends! We are extremely proud as a club to grow so fast, this is largely down to the drivers that take part.

Get booked in for round 4 and 5 ASAP to avoid disappointment as this series is growing fast and has a limit of only 120 drivers.

SRCMCC promise more suprises for the next two rounds including answering all constructive criticism.

Please get booked in as it makes Captain Puppy's job a lot easier!!

Hi Cham,

Normally the entry list is posted during the week before the event... So far the events have attracted around 90 entries, hopefully the last two will be fully booked.

Would be great to have some international drivers to one...

Keep check on here for updates.

I am sure there will be an official on here later on.

Not saying dboots aren't as quick but mini pin/answer rc insert combination have won every round so far!! Unless Lee Martin has been trying other inserts..

Looking forward to a bit of international feel at the event. There are various hotels near by. The track is a stone throw from the f1 circuit.

Has anyone tried the core rc inserts in minipins?

03-03-2011, 06:50 PM
Hi Cham, I'm sorry nobody has replied to you yet. I think everyone is far to busy reading the body shell wars :p
I personally choose the tyre I run based on if the track has more slippery corners than carpet ones because (for me) spikes are better on slipy and pins on carpet. You have people like mr Martin though who only run pins and mr Springer who only runs spikes regardless of surface and they run the same car. The durango tyre is a great alrounder option too!!
Hope this helps and I look forward to welcoming you next week.
Matt

PS The racing is extremely fair and tight unless Lee decides to race 4wd :woot:

Cham

Thanks for the response Matt. I'll be limited to 20kgs and space, therefore I'll just bring a set or 2 or old minipins. I didn't know Team Durango made tires! Must be a product only introduced in the UK.

Are you implying that racing is not fair and tight if Lee races 4wd? (I thought he moved to the US?)

I also look forward to meeting you.

Cheers,
Cham

P.S can anyone give me advice on traveling by plane with R/C equipment? May I take the radio in my hand luguage?

Hi Cham, the racing is fair but not so tight as he can be quite a way ahead :woot: He still lives here but travels everywhere I believe.

Durango make 2 different type of tyre and I will biring some for you to look at and try if you'd like. What buggy wheel fittings do you use?

I will ask someone who is more likely to know about radio question to post asap.

Wow he is that good! lol.. Would love to see him in action!

I run:

4x4 - DEX410
4x2 - TRF201

Are the Durango tires on their website? Do you have a link?

Not that I am planning to break anything, but would I be able to purchase parts at the race for my two cars? Or should I bring a bunch of spares?

Thx,
Cham

Cham you will probably not be able to purchase any spares for either of your cars at the venue so I would bring a selection of spares with you. Saying that, if anyone racing has a part that you don't carry then most would be willing to help out if need be.

I have carried my radio (steerwheel) and both cars in my hand luggage several times when racing abroad and it normally is not a problem. My advice to you would be to ask at check-in BEFORE you part with your main luggage just in case they ask you to put the radio in there. Be prepared to take everything out though as they normally spot the gear on the scanner and ask you to empty out your bag to check it, which is always fun :woot:

MA have stumped up yet more cash!! They have purchased more carpet and better track marking for round 4 of the SRCMCC, KYOSHO winter series.
Don't worry though, the track will still be multi surface, however, it give us more options and possibly a bigger track if that's possible! :woot:

PaulUpton
09-03-2011, 04:11 PM
You will do 4 rounds of qualifying, each round is seperate and you will receive an amount of points determind on where you qualify in that round, so for instance if you were 4th fastest car in that round will receive 4 points. Your 2 lowest rounds (points) will be added together to give you your overall points, the person with the lowest score will be the person on pole in the A.

Hope that makes sense

Great meeting, awesome track! My only complaint would be that you need something to mark where the carpet goes over the TC track marking, making bumps, maybe some white tape or something?

Noted Tom, cheers!!
We have requested that all the SC track marking be removed for our next meeting. Made it interesting though :p

Superb days racing, great track! Thanks to the club for such a good track.

Really liked the drop off section, no complaints here!

Cheers to my team mates for keeping me laughing all day, Goldy, Lewis, Captain Dixon.

Another happy camper here. Thanks to the crew for a top days racing
The track was REALLY good - had a good flow to it and if I was to suggest something constructive, I felt the most technical part of the track was the furthest away (the lead into the cross-over jump) which made it harder to judge - or maybe I'm just getting old

Top day though, keeps getting better and better!

Brilliant day guys, I loved it!

The track was awesome, the best I've driven indoors. The track had great features, all of them challenging but not impossible, and fantastic to string together.

Some natural light in that building would be nice! Amazing facility though!

The question is, shall I do the next round, the day before Stotfold regional? Sounds like an epic weekend!

I will definitely be going with the epic weekend mate. I want to do all the regionals as I'm sure all of them will be just a good as last year and the competition is extremely tight in our region.
I would recommend you don't miss the last round though mate as more possible surprises still to come!!

We do try and cover most of them up with the little bump jumps, however, there were a couple of noticeable ones right in front of the rostrum which were covered by those black flooring panels.

Hi Robbie, when trying to open anything to do with the series results BBK is opening the screen but not displaying it, so the main software is freezing as if the screen is open but I don't know where it is opening it too. Only way to get out of it is pressing alt-f4 and closing the screen even though it's not displaying it. We have been running the software on a 2nd monitor which we had problems with before where any separate windows were trying to open on the 2nd monitor even after it had been disconected which we sorted, it's basically the same problem as that but only with anything to do with the series. Am getting hold of BBK this evening hopefully
