Maybe this is a silly question but is there any difference in different brands??
For all example is the ae oil and losi the same in thickness: 25WT = 25WT
Another one is the oil of muchmore:
On the bottle it's printed for example 300 = 30WT??? :confused:

Can of worms.
In my opinion its best to stick to 1 brand, whatever that may be as you know the difference from each weight is consistant. Personally I use losi as I like the variation is down to 2.5 wts. Id either use that or AE oil.
There used to be stories about Schumacher oils being inconsistant but I couldnt say for sure.

I do as Dan does - stick to one oil and then you at least know that the difference between weights will have the effect you are looking for. I don't think you could ever tell the difference between brands, because the tolerances on the pistons (holes and diameter) and the bores of the shock body, will give more difference in damping perforamnce than the oils. HTH :)

https://www.labdepotinc.com/Category_Details~id~331.aspxYou can always try to test them using a viscometer;
I was just using one a few weeks ago. I thought of testing the shock oils while I was using them. It was college property, though.
All you do is draw the fluid past a line at the top and time how long it takes to pass from one level to another.
