Well after owning a Madrat 2wd for just a few weeks with a 17t brushed set up I decided to upgrade to brushless.

Wasn't sure what to get as there is so many brands out there and it was a choice of buying brand new at a budget or take a chance and buy something secondhand.

I know from experience that buying secondhand stuff off ebay and forums is a bit of a lottery but decided in purchasing a speed passion 7.5t v2.0 motor and the esc gt2.0 lrp. Hope it was a good choice as I done a bit of reading on here and the general concensus is that it is a good brand.

With the help of my dad who's got all the soldering equipment It taken most of the afternoon to install and fit all the wiring and fix everything down and was ready for initial calibration. After reading the instructions on how to set up the ESC to the transmitter I proceeded ahead praying it wouldn't go up in fire.

Once initial set up was done I pushed the stick forward and low and behold it all works:woot:.

I shall be running my car on astro turf so I would like to know what is the best or optimum set up for the advance settings.

Here is a pic of what I programmed in....

Please tell me if I done anything wrong?
From 11 to 15 I really dont know what it all means so I set them at 'off'.

I did a test run on grass and the car flies comparedto the 17t I previously had. Very controlable esc with nice smooth accelaration. Although if I go full throttle immediately, it lifts the front a little then. I already got a brass weight upfront under the servo(50g).

I currently have a 24t pinion and ran the car for 10mins and the esc was just warm to the touch.motor was warm. Can I go wih a higher pinion?

Also, do I have to adjust the slipper now I have a more powerful motor?

Comments and advice appreciated...:)

Put item 9 up to level 8. You should find it gets a bit quicker. Will get a bit warmer too although you may have to back off the slipper to settle down the wheelies.
Put item 4 down to 1. Should be good for 2wd.

I would run forward and brake only.

I would run forward and brake only.

Agree as that's what we prefer at TORCH anyway to avoid reverse accidents, plus you'll improve quicker.

Thanks for the advice.

Do I need to run the fan or will the esc get too hot as it kind of gets in the way of the shell?
