As there's been a few requests for pictures in a few different threads I thought I'd start a new one.
I've just finished wiring mine up, it took a while, but I think it's come out quite well
One thing I've noticed is that it is quite light, 1560g with mini-spikes on, but no shell/under tray.
If anyone has any questions feel free to ask.

Yeh I'm racing at Worksop tomorrow.
The capacitor is between the servo and speedo under the top deck. The shell is with Keith, hopefully will arrive today :)
As standard kit it is all steel screws. I've replaced the two rear screws on the rear top deck with button heads, which just happen to be ti, the rest are all std steel.

Very nice ,how much would you say is the same as the sx2?would it be possible to build one from parts as i have a brand new sx2 with the alloy parts on it
Thanks

From memory, you would need:
Side & Rear belts
Centre & Rear Lower Transmission housings
Chassis, lipo cradle, battery posts, straps & top decks
Centre Layshafts, slipper plates and misc. bearings
Motor mount & side gears
Side belt tensioner
Bodyshell & under tray
And a few parts I've probably missed
So there is quite a bit that is different, and there mainly the expensive alloy/carbon parts :(

What option parts from the SX2 are compatible? Gearbox tops etc?

Pretty much all I think, except the obvious, like chassis and top deck. The gearbox tops are the same.

Nice. The more I see pics of these cars, the more they remind my of my old yokomo worlds edition:thumbsup:
Have all the team drivers got prototype SX3's for testing or are they the final version and been delivered by plane whilst the rest of us have to wait for the 100's of kits that are currently on a slow boat from China? Just wondered if there was likely to be any further changes which could delay the launch date :)

Nige, your telling me its made in China with "made in UK on box" iits like buying cornish pasties that don't come from cornwall! :woot:

Bet the aren't all Cornish pasties are made in Cornwall  Though what constitutes made in the UK nowadays, does it mean that Schumacher source/manufacturer every component within the UK? Be nice to think that this once great manufacturing country still actually makes stuff rather then getting it made in China and shipped back. :)

Hi Steve,
After having a quick look at my Cat SX box I couldn't find any mention of being 'Made in UK', so had a quick search and found the post I remember reading last year which mentioned that Schumacher source some parts from China. Maybe they once made everything within the UK, but not now.......?

Have you got the ESC / motor wires going through where the servo goes or to the side and under or through the middle of the belt??

Mine go under the belt and through the servo mount. Its a squeeze but it'll keep the wires away from the moving bits.(I hope lol)

SX3 was a great build, electrics were abit tricky, but fun to do.

First drive tonight and I am pleased with it. The build was all straight forward and the only tricky bit is the electrics which took a while to keep the wires out of the way of the belts. just practice now to get used to a new car.
