Been driving my truggy a lot last summer, the maxx felt like it would roll to easy when I went back to it. So the new chassis is to:
-Get the weight low
-Extend the wheelbase to 360mm
-Allow the 6S lipo to be fitted ( I was using NIMH last year)
-Important one this, have the diff easily accessable, I want to be able to get the prop shafts in and out of the truck quickly without taking the front and/or rear ends off the chassis OR changing the pinion mesh.
-Be lighter than the last chassis.
I took some inspiration from the UE razorback chassis, you will see the similarities.
Main chassis plate is 4mm thick, milled to 2mm in some areas.

the top "deck" is 6mm thick, I cut this from a plate by hand, it took days.

these are to hold the diff, they were hard to make as they have to be perfect, easy with a cnc machine, not so easy for me. They are sided and keyed so they slot together only one way.

Motor mount is 8mm thick, 2 x M4 from under the chassis and an M3 through the top deck.

Underside of the chassis, recesses for the skids.

Spine on and motor mount, also the backs of the diff mounts, they are held in place from the other side by 2 screws.

Diff in and tighten up. The spur pulls away form the motor on disassembly so the motor can remain in place with mesh undisturbed.

recesses here for the straps to be clamped.

tight for space here, servo mount and esc tray. Also note the slight recess on the top deck for the motor, it sits as close as physically possible to the centre line and 0.5mm from the chassis.
