Hi guys,

due to recieving a fair few e.mails/PM's recently regarding getting practise on our track before the 2WD Regional on 12TH June and before the season starts...

We are in the process of designing and building a new purpose built track for 1/10th buggies at our venue, work will be completed for beginning of April.

We will be organising either a 1/10th race meeting or an 'open track' weekend to allow racers to practise and get feedback on new track.

This will be organised so not to clash with any other Regional holding club meetings to give everyone equal chance.

24/7/365* access to the track for testing/practise will be available by joining A1 Racing Club, but not until track is finished as it is out of bounds until work completed. (* apart from race meetings and maintainence work)

Tuesday night club meetings will also use the track and variants of layout so all competitors will have plenty of time to get set ups etc.

Our home 1/10th drivers have been out of practise with the smaller electric offroad cars for many years so we need to get out to the other regional tracks to practise, going to be a very busy racing filled year, can't wait!

Hope this answers the questions regarding the venue accessibility...

the answer to the next question is... It will be Astroturf as it will be built integrating part of the 1/8th track currently laid

Regards,

Mark.

No Rich, think your mistaken on the 1st one, never heard of Smithy practicing. Dan on the other hand ..................Funny you should say that Ian because rumour has it Dan can make his way around Broxtowe's new track with his eyes shut already and the bugger isn't even built yet!

I am pleased (and relieved) to announce that A1 Racing club now has the brand new 1/10th track finished.

To open the season there will be an open meeting on this Sunday (8th May)

1/10th Offroad electric 2WD and 4WD buggys, 2WD and 4WD SCT classes.

slightly different format for the first one, gates open at 8:30am, open practice from 9am till 12pm, booking in closes at 12:15pm and there will be 3/4 rounds of heats and finals in afternoon starting at 12:30pm.

number of rounds depends on driver numbers with this being the first use of the track.

£5 per head all day,

perfect opportunity to get some practice in for the 2WD Regional on 12th June.

Club details available on ME-OR website or www.A1RacingClub.com

any questions please PM or post here,

Weather is predicted to be a scorcher so help us make the most of it and get the track bedded in :woot:

Apologies for announcement being short notice and the track build taking longer than anticipated but there has been some serious work put in and a few dramas along the way on our site to be able to offer this level of facility.

weekly outdoor club meetings kick of next Tuesday, you are all welcome to join us, details available on websites mentioned.

Thanks to all that showed up yesterday, hopefully you all enjoyed yourselves, was nice to see some new faces and some close racing.

Shame about the strong winds but not a lot we can do about that...

although a bank is now going in to shelter the track so if its windy like that again it shouldn't effect the cars as much ;)

We are open again next Sunday and every tuesday evening so hope to see you again.

Mark

thanks Nick, glad you enjoyed it, although i need more practice at running meetings but don't think it went bad for first time without any tuition or a working microphone (apparantly its a cable that needs a wiggle!)

You are not far wrong atm Wes :drool: don't know if its pure commitment or i just need commiting! if i used the time for practice i might be able to do a clean lap or two!

i'll be there most of the day tomorrow from about 7am chipping away at the venue job list, if i know you or any others are coming for an early play i can keep the gates open buddy;)

normally go for lunch with a mate 12:30pm till about 2:30pm but depends tomorrow as car park extension is hopefully being started so need to keep an eye and a whip on the contractors since they are hourly paid!

Otherwise i'll open up at 5pm

You need to book in your details through ME-OR website,

saves hassle organising seeded heats on the day.

Pay on the day when booking in at race control.
