So what's peoples opinion on the best brushless motor and speedo for 1/10th off road?

I know its a difficult question, when considering everything, but views and opinions would be appreciated!

I highly recomend the Nosram Matrix evolution and the peak vantage bl motors or the orion vortex motors i have run this combo with a 7.5 in for about 8 or 9 months now and i cant fault it it hasnt missed a beat hasnt even really got warm :) runs super cool.

What size is the Nosram Matrix and is it that both motors have run nice and cool?

Well i only have the orion vortex but the peak motors are the same except for the sticker. My motor runs super cool. And ive felt other peoples just as they have come off and there's where cool to.

As for the speedo's There are two current versions of the nosram matrix -

Nosram matrix evolution 2007 edition and the Nosram matrix ISTC if your runing 4wd and you have enough clearance on the shell i would recomend the ISTC version as it allows more cooling to the speedo and it is improved over the normal matrix evolution.

As for siveive just measure mine now and it is 4.4 + 3.3 mm Thats the bottom of it including sodler tabs.

Jimmy has wrote a review on it in his review section why not ake a look.

Thanks for your posts.

I take it the sizes you've measured are in cm's?

I've got a Losi XXX4 G+ so I don't think the ISTC will fit under the body, so I think I'll have to look at the Evolution 2007???

I prefer the sensored brushless systems compared to the non sensor based. 4 wheel 4.5 I thought I read in here you were running xxx-4 than 5.5 will be more than you will ever need. As far the best system in opion is the novak and it will fit the car had 3 xxx-4,and mine fit in everyone. But you have to drive. There isn't anybody running non sensored around here i have one systing on the shelf because I didn't like it. But that is just my opion.

Which Novak speedo are you using?

I've read on another thread that the Novak motors are more reliable than say LRP or Nosram, would any one else agree with this???

Yea novak motors are more reliable than nosram and lrp motor's but the orion/peak motors and the novak motors are about the same on relaiablity. As for novak speedo's there is onl one so he will proberly be running the novak GTB.

Actually there are a few Novak Speedos, For the GTB there is the dedicated Spektrum version and non. But there are also the XBR and also the older SS series (I think that was what it was called) that a lot of the NE lads ran in trucks last year at Regionals.
