Which do you use and how are they set up?
Im struggling to predict the X6 with losi shocks so im back on associated ones for the wekend.
Mike,
I know exactly how you feel, i had the car feeling really good on AE shocks, silver springs all round with red losi pistons and 30wt rear and 35 wt up front.
I switched to losi shocks and so far im not convinced, but the team drivers seem to use the losi shocks so they must use them for a reason, i have gone back to red pistons all round now with losi shocks so i hope to get that special x6 feel back:D

i use AE with #2 pistons in the front with 40wt, #1 pistons with 35wt in the rear. green springs back and silver front. but the springs may be a bit soft i have them like this because i like a lot of grip. i may put the rears up to silver dependin on how it feels at batley on sunday.

I use Losi shocks for two primary reasons, neither of which has to do with how the car works (directly). First, I "grew up" racing Losi cars, so I know how to build Losi shocks - I can get the same performance every time I build one. I can't do the same with AE shocks; that's not a knock against AE shocks, just a statement about what I'm better at. Second, kind of related, I've got tons of spares for Losi shocks: shafts, bodies, shock ends, springs, cartridges, you name it. I have none of those extras for AE shocks, so its kind of a matter of convenience.
Kinwald has said he prefers his car with AE shocks on it; the car just seems to work better with them; its definitely something I'm looking at trying in the future.

I have to admit that I'm running Losi Shocks at the moment. I still like, end even prefer, the way the AE shocks work and feel. But the problem is that the anodising on AE shock bodies is so thin since the Thundertiger-boys took over that they wear out way to fast. I've even seen new ones that had airbubbles inside while anodising so they had blank spots.
btw. Paul stop surfing the internet and go help your dad packing the 4-gear tranny's ;)

I much prefer the Losi shocks as I think they absorb bumps much better and are much more consistent.

Haha, I'm actually down in Nashville, TN (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&time=&date=&ttype=&q=Nashville+TN&ie=UTF8&ll=37.300275,-83.71582&spn=20.368831,33.881836&z=5&om=1) attending graduate school rather than at home (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&time=&date=&ttype=&q=Whitehouse,+OH&ie=UTF8&ll=40.763901,-82.111816&spn=19.408389,33.881836&z=5&om=1), where my dad is bagging parts. About 400 miles away. My part in the process, updating xfactoryrc.com so everyone can order the parts and get them shipped out, is about half done.
Paul,
Will you have anyone attending the Jconcepts clash?

The 4wd rear losi shocks are slightly longer being 1.2" than the 2wd .9" ones but the fronts are the same

I'd heard the Losi piston/AE shock was the ticket & planned to try it. Now I'll just try my alloy Tamiya one's instead :D
