Saw this transmitter on Sunday and serious considering selling my Spektrum DX3s! They look good value for the money!
Would like to hear other peoples thoughts about this transmitter before I take the plunge!!

Hmm, looks very much like the Flysky transmitter my friend just brought.. had a feel of it, and it certainly isn't bad for the money he paid, has all the adjustments needed to get going. The Flysky was a lot cheaper though... (almost crazily so!)

You're right, it's a Flysky gt3, just as the ansmann w5 is a flysky gt2.
It's Ansmann as always just sticking their name on it.

I seen the flysky transmitters and receivers on eBay and cannot believe how cheap the receivers are!!!

Agreed. The Chinese are churning out some real good cheap gear at the moment. There's no wonder they're the worlds largest economy.

If my Ansmann w5/r5 that came bundled with my rtr ever goes west, i'll be sure to get the Flysky gt3. Looks the business too.

I own the Flysky GT3b . While it does look nice there is issues with steering and throttle expo. Otherwise the radio works great and yes recievers are dirt cheap.

What issues are you having with the steering/throttle expo's?

The steering expo only works to the right side. The throttle expo doesnt work at all. Seems to have been a issue with the GT3b.

If they managed to fix those problem on the Ansmann radio then the radio is darn near perfect

3rd channel is under your thumb, 3rd channel trims and DR are also under you thumb... very very easy to nock and accisentally adjust...

Also, it doesnt like rechargable batteries... at nominal voltage it beeps battery low... Very annoying

I gave this radio a try too but I did't have problems with rechargable batteries.

The first thing I noticed that the expo isn't working. If you set the expo to a left bend curve for the right steering the left steering will follow a right bend curve. So you cannot use it at all.
Wheel and trigger both have a slip stop effect- I think this can be fixed with a little grease.
I will test this radio at the next races to check the transmisson. If the transmission is fine this radio is pretty good for racers who dont use expo and other specials.

hi guys! After all, i am still not knowing if the Ansmann W6 does have those expo setting problems or not. I would like to buy one,and could get it for about 90-100 bucks but i would like to know that it is a 100% working product, 'cas if its not, than a HK would be twice as cheep and the same quality. Or?
Cheers!

quality controls and warranty. I´m not a sponsored driver ( ha ha )

Buy one with confidence, it´s a very nice radio

come on... the ansmann radio is made by flysky so there will be no difference in quality. Maybe the service is better and maybe the expo works- i don t know.
At least the memory is a bit wired. If you dont push enter after every change it wont safe it... sounds obvious but is a bit uncommon to use.

@nosequehacer: ehy dont u look up the expo if you still have the radio? That would be the easiest way to find out. But i bet it will be wrong

I would like to ask the current Ansmann W6 owners to do that expo test for the future buyers. Please, check if it works or not and tell us.
Is it possible or is it too difficult?
Thanks in advance!

I use expo in steering and throttle and works nice since the beginning without problem.

I think the advantage is if you have troubles: don´t need to pay costs of shipping and wait some weeks to take a new radio. You carry your transmitter to the shop and get a new one. but I repeate, if you have troubles, I didn´t

Don't really think that was true test! As the person who did that vid had the hk receiver in a ariel tube and the ansmann receiver ariel runnig down the side of the lipo!!
Also you should run any RC transmitter with the ariel extended!
I don't run the w6 but think vids like these can damage peoples views on things! Just like the ids of lipos catching fire!!
I have a friend (who started this thread) and every time I see him I ask how's he getting on with the w6 and he loves it!
So make what ever you want of the vid!

I only wanted to know if it really works or not. I read that HK and FS similar transmitters have issues with with expo setups and so on.... if the Ansmann w6 doesn't have this problem, than I will have one soon.

The vid is pretty strange. The same problem with different transmitters... it seems this person has different problems, maybe the speedo.
But that the expo works on the ansmann is one thing I really like to see in person because its something that you dont notice at once because it works but not correct. The expo problem on the throttle isnt that bad... because the brake trigger distance is very short anyway

I'm like you, I'm sure this is a good trnasmitter.
For the moment a have a Futaba 3Pk, but when i will have some problem with the futaba i will change for the W6 :)

I see some personn drive with the W6 and are very happy but i don't look all the programm inside the transmitter.

gt3b here, feels good quality (came from futaba 2PL) works exactly like it says on the tin, never tried the expo functions apart from when first looking at it( you can put negative expo on, might solve the issue mentioned above), save that for twitchy helicopters but everything else fine about it.

4 extra receivers bought at the same time for other cars, one for my madrat, all for less than half the price of one spekky receiver that my mate has to purchase for his cars.

all in all, great purchase and no amount of extra case mouldings and battery boxes would make me buy the Ansmann one even if the expo did work

Iv been running the W6 for a little while now, had a bit of a glitch which was the reciver, once replaced it has been spot on, setting expo was easy, just steer left or right and set it for each side.

@ stumpiey (http://www.oople.com/forums/member.php?u=5560): ok than the W6 seems to have a different expo function than the GT3B. On the GT3B you cannot choose the expo for left or right. That is only possible for end point adjustment.

hope nobody got my post in the wrong light
not slating or thumbs up the ansmann, i dont own a w6

what i am doing is confirming that the basic hardware its based on is great
just i do everything in my life for as little as possible(too many damn hobbies) and getting 5 cars converted to 2.4ghz for the same price as the w6 floats my boat.

If the gt3b transmitter gives up, a w6 might be an option especially if it turns out to be compatible with receivers that cost £5 a piece, in fact if someone is willing to try it i will supply one of these receivers to try out with the w6

Hi pbiggy, had any luck testing receiver with a W6?
I,ve had a W6 for a couple of months, been using it on my crawler but just recently switched it to my car and i am having problems with the range, it loses the signal at about 20 meters! I'm sure it should have more of a range but I am new to rc, so maybe its just me.
Anyway if you if your still interested in testing the receiver with a W6 than i would be more than happy to, would'nt mind extra receivers for a fiver! but only if i can sort out the probs with the range.......

I'm using a W6 ansmann radio and i can recommend it, i'm using also a futaba 3PK but the W6 is absolutely a great radio.
I even use some receivers from another brand and also have no problems.
I'm using it with my offroad cars now and have been using it for my onroad cars aswell and never had any issues about range or expo or what so ever.

I switched to the PSX 4.0.1 firmware (complete new firmware) and its really great.

- 16 model memory
- real subtrim and trim
- dead zone for steering and throttle
- set battery low voltage (so you can use lipo with right warning)
- smaller steps trim
- all buttons and keys mapable (dind't try that jet)
- up to 6 channel control (if you need, I sticked with the 3 channel version)

and:
- expo IS working
- when switching model the trim rate is now right not the one from the previous model you selected
- all the button configuration is now logical ENTER means enter, END means end of setting and BACK and means something like homescreen.

If the GT3C and GT4 will ever be in the shops I hope we can still use this great firmware.

I am contemplating buying one as a spare - I also have a KO 40mhz set.

I ussed to have a Spektrum DX2 (I think) and I have to say it fealt disconnected - the switch to the KO brought about a much smoother piece of kit.

Is the Ansmann W6 smooth and fast?

Moose
30-12-2012, 03:05 PM
I like it but you have to mod quite a few stuff do get it smooth.
Firmware mod changed much.
Ball bearing mod is helping too.
some sanding to get the trigger smooth.
If you dont want to do those mods I would go for an other radio but if you like to do so you will have quite some fun and get a good radio.
it even has a ppm out.
Look for the flysky gt3B this one is the cheapest and its the same
