hi, my gtb went a while ago so i opted for thier replacement service and sent it back, fair play it was a good service as they sent me back a brand new one.
but on its second day out its gone again??? gearing was fine, no bare wires etc..
Now what im wondering is, could it be a motor fault causing the speedo to over heat and blow? as im using the original novak motor it came with (not a replacement)
havent a clue on the internals of a brushless motors so just having a stab in the dark
any info welcome, i dont want anouther speedo to go the same way

I'd like to help, but remotely it's difficult!
Could be a motor issue but without taking apart you're not going to be able to tell. In general the GTB is very reliable so 2 so quickly suggests something is 'up'.

Yep I agree with Dan, something must be wrong externally to the GTB.
Are the solder tabs, or battery bars in contact with carbon or anything else conductive?
Id get it back to Novak pronto, including the motor this time (with a polite letter to explain why), and when the replacement arrives - wire it up on the bench, perhaps just put the motor in the car with no pinion on so it doesn't buzz around on the bench - but wire it up initially with full length wires, on the bench - test it, set up the end points and make any profile changes, check it again - then de-solder, mount in car, cut wires to length and analyse everything. Gaffa tape any possible chassis shorts, and id consider it pretty much ready to go again...
I can;t imagine a dodgy receiver or servo can blow an ESC, but if you have spares - as a precaution id fit those too.... no harm..

thanks for your help, i used the same setup of servo and reciever in the car with the mamba max and mamba motor(worked fine)while i was waiting for the replacement so i dont think it is them.
when the speedo went, the battery wires were red hot and so was the speedo, but the motor wasnt too warm in comparison. so i guess the motor wasnt under too much load?
anyways im contacting novak, will lsee what happens
thanks for the help
