right after i had a problem the otherday with my tx(futaba 3vc) i found that the range from my ct3f was hitting max at less then 10metres,ive recharged my battery(waiting on a lipo coming for it) and still the same,so ive rebound with both my receivers still the same am i right in thinking i may have damaged the module?

anyway ive ordered a ct8f as its the only 1 i could get in the uk and want to make sure it will work with my 3vc has any1 used 1 before?

any help much appreciated.

never tried a ct8f but i have 3 x ct3f modules and my cars that have them in go as far as i want them too until i can just about see them and have to turn them around,

i got them here:

I looked at the Corona modules a while back, but it is dogged by a glitching servo issue in the 7/8 channel radios it's intended for, I could never confirm if it would be a problem in a 3ch set, so went with the Assan kit.

Glad to know it (mostly) works fine in car TXs. The FrSky module or a Spektrum Air module (thanks to the orange RX receivers) would be my pick if I was having a do-over. Assan is a bit more costly (especially module) and, oddly, my TX won't save changes with the module in. The module is like a very large write-protect dongle stuck in it....

My handset is the 3vcs and they work perfectly, I have told the people selling them on eBay that they are compatible but they havnt added it to the compatible lists,

Actualy 3 people at our track use the ct3f / cr4d systems...

I picked up another Hitec CRX off ebay for £30 for my cousin who's starting out. He can stick a Futaba-compatible module in it too if 40mhz doesn't work out. £50-odd for a good quality mid-range 2.4ghz radio, can't sniff at that - and receiver cost is big if you have a large fleet.

One thing I noticed was battery life improved when I switched the CRX to 2.4ghz.

i dont think people are understanding what the question is im wanting to use a CT8F with it i already have a CT3F module but they are different and not made to use with the 3vc hence why im asking if any 1 has used a 3vc with a CT8F.

it should work yes but you will only be able to use 3 of the channels as your transmitter if its a 3vc is only a 3 channel transmitter, so buying an extra 5 channels is pointless......so i'd stick with another ct3f as it is compatible with a 3vc

be careful as 6/7/8/9 channel futaba radios work in a different way to the 3vcs, which is why genuine futaba air rxs wont bind with a surface module

right the module came to day and works fine with the transmitter but still got the same issue no range on it so ive decided that its my battery(well i hope it is) i have a lipo on route to me so and should be here tomorrow or saturday depending on the honk kong post.will update when ive tested it with that and if its the same its going to be sold as parts.lol

It must be the reciever because whether my battery reads 11.1 volt or 10.2 volt or 9.8 volt I get the same distance between the car and transmitter and never lose any signal power...

hi,

I bought the Ct3f module and receiver (two of them) and worked fin on first race although I found that had to hold the right aerial up, as with the left one up didn's work in the presence of other radios.

I now have the same problem as reported here, no range, at 30 to 50mt starts failing, no metter what I do. Tryed diferent bat, diferent radio (another 3PK), both tx and both RX, diferent aerial position (hor, vertical, front of car , back of car..)

nothing seems to work.

I would say that trasmiter power has gone!!
the strange is that both tx work the same way.

It even fail at close range (less then 5mt).

If you have any suggest please let me know.
