What is the best 4wd buggy for your money?

Hey guys,

I'm shopping around for Christmas and i figured that I'd ask people who know. So what is a good 4wd buggy for your money, i really don't wanna spend a lot and it won't be used for really competitive racing just messing around at a local track with some buddies.

Tamiya Durga, if you're on a budget. £120 inc delivery from HK.

Or, an associated B44, if you think you will ever want to race. £220 approx.

well I'm shooting for under 200 us dollars whatever that is in euros. i think that it's around 140 and in pounds it's around 100 i think. correct me if i'm wrong sorry.

You'll struggle to buy a complete new setup for that budget, I'm afraid (as mentioned above even an entry-level Tamiya is £120 for the car).

Consider going second-hand.

hmmm well what would be the lowest costing one then because i really want to get into it and i'm sure i could spend a little over my budget.

is your $200 just for the ESC and transmitter? or is that for a car, esc, transmitter and everything?

if so, I think a B4 RS would be your best bet. I know its 2wd, but its about the only chance you'll have of getting everything for that sort of money unfortunately.

well it was suposed to be for the car and everything but i'm sure i could come up with a little extra money because i wanna try 4wd, i had a two wheel drive that i could probably get the reciever and servo out of and i still have the controller in one piece somewhere so mainly the kit and the motor along with an esc.

hey man thanks a lot it looks pretty good. how is it with the parts are they available and are they strong enough to take a little punishment?? i mean i'm not dropping the car off a ten story building but will it stay together if i do some bashing in the backyard and don't land the jumps perfectly??

I don't own one, But once I get my track built I'll be buying a couple of them for family members to use, I haven't heard anything negative about them in regards to strength.

The aluminum front arm brace is the first thing I would buy but other than that, they are a great car. Loads of parts available for the car from pretty much anywhere, shiny upgrades if you want them and a good racer if you ever got the urge to compete. Check out the review Jimmy did.;)

I'm seriously considering running Kyosho as my race chassis in 08 and looking at what you get in the ZX5 ready set it looks like a bargin!
