I bought this with the rc monsters conversion chassis and all the hopups for a good price.

I initially used the VXL brushless stuff on 3s but it ran hot, the crt is a bit on the heavy side for that, so I bought a mamba monster and 2650.

testing was good, power was much better and ran a lot cooler too, might move up to 4S but for now the chassis needs a re-design.

Right plan is to get the electronics flat in the chassis, get the lipo flat and put the motor further back. Also fitting a proper 1/8th center diff and regular plastic 46T spur. Also not happy with the braces to stiffen the chassis, if you really get hold of it it just flexes where the braces meet the chassis and I want it stiffer than that.

Cut a chassis plate out 10mm longer than original (that is rc-monsters extended chassis) and made the basic diff/ motor mount.

made the rough diff mount for the other side and had a trial fit of stuff

needed a new top "deck" for my new brace

Might be better to have the receiver on the right.

Im always paranoid the diff mounts are not 100% parallel and have friction so I wanted to brace them with tubes so when tight they are perfectly spaced.

Slight re-think, 2 braces at the top, the bottom will be plenty strong attached to the chassis. trimmed and lightened as much as possible and drilled all the holes.

thats what im talking about!

made a simple servo mount, 4 rods.

Top braces in place, stiff as you like now!

this is where all the calculations paid off, fourtunatly perfectly in line!

give it a polish and counter sink all the holes

The angle of the prop shafts generated a lot of heat so ive switched back to the diff in the middle, for this I have to run the lipo stood up. Also switched the motor to the front and added 10mm in length to try and tame the wheelies. The truck is now more or less rustler dimensions.

milled some areas to loose some weight.

put the servo flat as there is room now. Just need to make prop shafts up.
