I think the best advice is to wait a little longer (usually Jan IIRC) for the homologated cell list to be released by the BRCA EB ..... anything else till then is just rumours!

I personally wouldn't be buying IB4200s at the moment .... to risky in every way!

I know for sure that Paul W' will be looking very closely at this and doing what he and the EB feels is the best for the sport as a whole. In all the years I've been racing I've never known there to be a crazy uninformed decission made by the BRCA and I doubt very much they plan on starting down that road in 2008. Whatever they do is likely to upset a few people but tough decissions all ways will and you have to look for the greater good.

I agree with everything Roger said (for perhaps the first time ever ;) )

At the moment I would not buy any!

Not sure if I am supposed to post this, but Paul was talking about this last night at the AGM, manufactures have until 31-12 to get cells to Paul for homologation.

Best to wait to see what happens.

I too will need cells for next year but unlike previous years because of the situation with cells I'm going to wait until the early 2008 to sort them out.

I dont think PW would mind you posting that JP, after all he like all of us wouldn't want anyone to cause injury to themselves by buying and using dangerous cells and to gain the knowledge of when this will be looking into at the latest is in the best interest of all racers.

the new orion 4200 SHO 2008EU cells will be available from 17 jan, currently its the only cell complying with the efra rules, not bad if your an orion sponsored driver, not good if you have just signed a deal with someone supplying ib's etc:)

price is 54.99 usual discounts on multiples.

I don't see everyone being happy by being forced to pay £54.99+ for cells due to a new ruleing.

I wonder who makes the Orion cell for them? There are not than many players. My money is a rebadged GP possibly. Need to get some and do a tear down. Are they in stock yet? £55+ ..crazy.. (not aimed at Model images..)

i would assume that the cell will be badged by various companies over the next few weeks and that the various matchers out there will be supplying them. there is going to be no doubt cheaper packs of varying outputs (club, team, national etc). currently the orion cell is the full spec top of the range one hence the full price tag.

Guys

I could do with some cell advice too. I have a Durga for Xmas and im looking at maybe running 19T indoor, i think Dudley have a class?
I gave up racing on road back when the 3000mah just came out, so cells now are way over my head lol, its all this legal not legal, casing size thing, all i need are some good cells for club racing purposes, thought about good 3700's?
Can anyone give me a heads up on whats good?

bests.....lee

Well having had to just purchase some cells for racing, I had no choice but to play it safe and go with some matched Intellect/LRP 3700's, I'm sure they'll be more than adequate for what I want to do, and I can always buy some legal cells once things have settled down.
