Just bought a nice 2nd hand TB-02 with hop-ups and looking to run brushless with peak motor rpm at 49,000.

Anybody know what the overall gear ratio on one of these is. Also probably looking to gear lower with bigger spur and smaller pinion but can't see how you can adjust the position of the motor to get a good mesh on the gears.

Any help appreciated

You could look for the manual on www.tamiyaclub.com (http://www.tamiyaclub.com)

Found the gear ratios off the web, (internal 2.6) and rolling radius of wheel about 195mm.

I have manual for the car but does not give any info on how you can adjust the position of the motor for different size gears. There are 4 sets of holes on the engine mount, perhaps they are drilled eccentically. It just looks like the motor can be rotated but not moved laterally

Normally the Tamiya manuals include a little chart to describe the gear ratios with the eccentric mount, possibly in the side column.

It shows a little picture of which holes to use for the standard 19/58T but nothin else. Will be looking to go to 16 or 17/61T

Found it in the manual in the section at the back. I must be blind
