I'm due to buy my Caster EX-1.5R Pro chassis as soon as the payment is cleared from the buyer of my revo big block kit. So I'm looking around in advance for brushless systems to power the kit :)

Came to the conclusion that the best option to go for is the mamba based on it being able to take 6s and it being so mega powerful!

Having read the castle creations website about their two ranges of motor (2200 & 2650) I know they recommend the 2650 for 1/8 buggies, but I guess i'm a little worried about run times as I know higher KV means lower run time (I think thats right to an extent)

Now I know the website states the recommended motor for a buggy is the 2650, but i'm not to sure and may need some stats to help me out which one to choose!

I was planning on running 4s, but would like the ability to run 6s if i felt necessary, so which do I go for? 2200kv / 2650kv?

When it comes to powering the beast, I have another problem, If I want to run 4s, I can only really afford zippy lipo's from ebay, at 5000mah 2s but 20c*** is it okay to run the MM on 20c lipo's? I have a feeling its 25 or above :S

OR

I can run on 6s total, again zippy lipo's, 4000mah 3s per pack 30c

Hopefully someone can help me out! :)

Thanks in advance

Go for the 2200 and use turnigy 5s 25c lipos. That's what a lot of people use.4s is under powered and 6s is crazy. Hobbyking do the lipos at a good price

Hmmm I can't really go that since the car im powering has dual battery tray's either side of the chassis, so i need TWO* packs to run together, I'm kinda swayed towards the 4s's now?

Do you know if the mamba monster will take 20c for sure?

If the 2200 & 2650 were compared, (2200) using 5s and (2650) using 4s, im pretty sure they will be pretty similar am i right?

Yeah I have breiefly looked over at hobby king but they never seem to have anything in stock! plus aren't they based in the US? and i'm here in the UK (unfortunately! UK SUCKS for most things)

Thanks though! :)

Check out the HPI Q-Base Flux esc on Modelsport - it's a rebadged mamba Max Pro, and is under £100.

I'd agree - more volts > more kv as it's a more efficient way to go.

Yepp, Just checked that out, but it works our more expensive? :L rather just get the MM combo anyway :)

So ive decided my setup will be:

Caster racing EX1.5R Pro
Castle creations mamba monster 2650
zippy x2 2s 5000mah 20c lipo's
savox 1257tg steering
spektrum dx3

Can't bloody wait! :)

I would say use the 2650 on 4s but for 6s the 2200 is probably better, I went as low as 1700kv (Neu motor) for my 6s setup. Wont make a big difference to the run time its more to do with how hot everything gets and whether you can gear it low enough.
