The first round of the innaugral UK Short Course National series was held at Silverstone RC clubs excellent all-weather facility after a change from the original 'Silverstone Moto-Arena' venue.

In the 2WD SC class, Richard Lowe driving for Associated / JConcepts stole the show - taking every qualifier and the two-leg A-main to take the win.

Anthony Potter 2nd - Richard Lowe 1st - Andy Lodwick 3rd

In the 4WD SC class Stuart Harlow dominated qualifying with his Team Durango truck to take an easy TQ. Both legs of the A-final played out in a similar manner with Scott Faulkner taking an early lead with his Hong-Nor truck before Jimmy Storey took over the lead to win in both legs and take the overall win with his Tekin powered Team Durango DESC410R. Stuart Harlow took 2nd overall after a last minute battle with Jimmy for the win in leg 2 where positions swapped a couple of times.

Hi Jimmy,

Can you give us some setup details ?
Tyres ? Motor ? Gearing ? Diffs ? We need details ! :)

Thanks

Hey, the setups will be on the Team Durango site soon I believe.
I ran JConcepts subcultures in qualifying but had to drive hard with these to keep pace. I switched to the Fastrax Kourse Kings in the last qualifier and finals with soft foam inserts (these tyres are HARD). I had two rows of spikes removed inside and out on the front and 1 row inside and out removed on the rear to stop the truck from grip rolling.

Using the JConcepts tyres I was taking out around 3500mah per race - using the Kourse Kings I was taking out about 2500mah. That was the difference in driving style between those two tyres. JConcepts I had to push - Fastrax I couldn't push!

I ran 7k front and rear in the diffs and 50k in the centre diff. I also ran the 2mm antiroll bar up front. Kit springs (they are the hardest) and 1.3mm pistons all round with kit 600cst oil in the front and AE 35wt in the rear.
1 degree rear hubs (set to give 4 degrees total toe-in)

I ran a 'normal sized' 540 Tekin redline 6.5 motor with 21t 48dp pinion. The motor was hot after every run and was working hard in the big truck but worked well. I'll be trying the Tekin 550 SC4X motor next time.

It does not hide the fact that your roots need doing.

Apologies for the delay everybody, the intention is to integrate the results into the ukshortcourse site properly, but unfortunetly real work has got in the way this week!

I have posted the full results here in the meantime:
