Hypothetical situation time:

Club runs Stock only policy, 27T brushed, 13.5 brushless. One club member has bought himself a 6.5 motor to use outside, and can't afford to purchase a stock motor.

What sort of limit should he place on his Tx to give an equivalent performance - or is it totally impossible to judge?

Comments anyone?

I would say it's impossible to judge. You will get better punch and it will probably spin up quicker with the 6.5 for a start.

Get the club to buy him a motor, which he pays back, say... £5 a week at.
This worked well with PT's at Swindon when I went there.

I'd agree with Mark's comment, I think that would be the best thing if he's a keen racer and simply cant afford to go out and buy a new motor.

Well it was meant to be hypothetical...............:)

Thanks for your responses chaps - it was as I thought a situation where there is no comparison, and that you can't restrict a mod motor to behave like a stock.

Put him in touch with me.

I'll sell him a used but good 27T monster for a tenner. Isn't that cheap enough?
