I have at the moment 2 packs of yeah racing 5200 30c 50c burst lipo,s
how do these compare with companys like orca,team orion ,and smc cells
i do feel like i am lacking some punch compared to people i race with with the same speedo and motor,

does the charger make a diffrence i am using a cor udc-40 atm

What punch and timing do you have set. I've had no issues with 30c lipos

Just thinking the cheap cells don't have the punch in them

I'd have thought you'd feel the difference between your current packs and any of the saddles from the three manufacturers you mentioned.

I know Marc at M K Racing has a good price on the SMC saddles... :thumbsup:

You are correct.. All lipo cells are 'not' the same, not even close.. The chemistry, film materials, assembly method etc can yield two entirely different quality cells. One with high IR (internal resistance) and one with very low IR.. The cell with the extremely low IR can accept much higher charge rates and can deliver more punch than the high IR cell..

Yeah Racing unfortunately uses average quality lipo cells - hence the cheap price, less punch compared to other cells and the lower max charge rate (I believe they are restricted to a 1C charge)..

The best packs I have seen to date are made by Thunder Power. They are the only company that has achieved a 12C charge rate for their lipo packs with their new 6th generation cells. The cells can tolerate very high amperage charge rates due to incredibly low IR. That means you could charge a 5000Mah pack at 60amps, although I have yet to find a charger than can get anywhere close to that amperage.. The best chargers out there pretty much top out at 20amp..

I have a couple of the new Thunder Power packs and charge them with one of their TP820CD chargers using a 30amp power supply... I charge their cells at 20amps every time and they don't even warm up.

I tried charging a Tenergy 5000mah pack that claimed it was rated for a 3C charge (15amp) and the darn pack started to balloon after two charge cycles.. In other words, Tenergy was no honest about what their pack could tolerate.

I have also used some Team Orion packs that claimed a max charge rate of 3C and they seem to work pretty good.. Never had any problems charging a Team Orion pack at 3C..

I always use a balancer when I charge lipo packs, and as of this moment I am sticking with Thunder Power as my pack of choice..
