TLR Super Cup 2011 in association with Spektrum and Electrix RC

Eden Park Raceway will be hosting the inaugural TLR Super Cup 2011 on 25-26 June at their famous multi-surface racetrack in Beckenham, Kent.
This will cater for the three most popular 1:10 off-road classes of 2WD and 4WD buggies, and 2WD Short Course Trucks.
Although the organisers aim to attract top drivers from the UK and Europe, it is hoped that the TLR Super Cup, in association with Spektrum and Electrix RC will appeal to local drivers as well.

The format sees a change to the norm with all three classes running on both days of the weekend.
Saturday will see two practices and three qualifiers, with a short practice, two qualifiers and multi-leg finals on the Sunday.
Qualifying will use the FTD format and there will be three legs for the A finals in 2WD, 4WD and Short Course Trucks with two legs for all the other finals. Awards will be presented to the winners of 2WD, 4WD and SCT, the top three in the U14 and U19 classes as well as in the Concourse Competition.

Entry fees are £15 per class with a limit of 160 in total, split 70 in 2WD, 70 in 4WD and 20 in SCT.
Tyres are open, but in SCT drivers will be limited to standard SCT wheels and tyres (no 1:8 tyres).
Booking in will be made through the Central Booking system (www.centralbooking.org (http://www.centralbooking.org)) and every racer will receive a complimentary entry pack when they book in.
The bar will be open from midday, both days. Camping and overnight facilities will be available on Friday and Saturday nights for £5 per pitch per night and this should really help to make the event fun and family orientated.
The club hopes to have more details confirmed and an entry list will be available at centralbooking.org NOW, so keep an eye here on oople as well as Racer (http://www.rcracer.com/), EPR (http://www.edenparkraceway.com/) and other popular websites for more information as it is announced.

After a successful running of Round 2 of the UK Short Course Nationals 2011 yesterday, Sunday, thought it prudent to remind 2WD SCT drivers that they are catered for at this years TLR Super Cup event.

Check all the details and how to enter here and on our website: http://www.edenparkraceway.com/

Getting lots of enquiries so book now to avoid any possible disappointment!

Do we need to pre book Caravan space or can we just turn up?

Assume the camping is next to the track?

Campers and caravanners can just turn up as space during the summer is not an issue. We may choose to put the camper vans and caravans against the banking so you may get directed to a spot on arrival...

Cool. Might arrive Friday but will elt you know more as soon.

Assume there is a water tap nearby for shower stuff? Also, and I guess this might be a no, do you have any 'empty' points for brown waste? ;)

Two yes answers and one no Neil...

There is an outside tap but it seems to be have been turned off internally. That said, water is available from inside the clubhouse from the toilets or changing rooms

We hope to have access to the showers for the weekend.

But unfortunately, we cannot handle your smelly waste...

Brown waste means shower water, not proper 'brown' stuff lmao!Drain nearby is fine as thats where is goes on campsite. Cant not shower for two days!!!!

As long as i can fill a role along with tap water somewhere we'll be sweet for two nights.

Looking forward to it. Got a nice bottle of Malt and a few bottles of Prosecco to share :D:D:D

The entries are coming in slowly but surely. If anyone has any questions or requires any information at all, please just contact myself or Steve Brooke (Brookie) here.

We have received interest from drivers in Europe and a few have already booked in. We felt that due to the distance some will travel, that we should make the track available for practice on Friday afternoon from 2pm. This will give the opportunity to get a flavour for the venue, especially those that have never been to EPR before. To level the playing field, after practice (7pm but TBC) the club will relay a new layout for the weekend of racing.

As I said before, if EPR can help in anyway in getting you to come down for a fun weekend of racing, please do not hesitate to contact us.

This time in three weeks time we will be half way through the two day event! :woot:

We know of many drivers that have said they are attending but have yet to book in, please DO NOT leave it too late, booking-in is available here: http://www.centralbooking.org/cbs/index.php

As Matt has stated previously, any questions of problems with booking-in or payment please do not hesitate to ask either of us through here or through the club's own website and mail in-box here: http://www.edenparkraceway.com/index.htm

Hope to see many of you there at this different and feature packed event!

Shelved the caravan idea due to logistics  so will be making two trips.

If by chance I can't make the Saturday, can I just race Sunday wIth Adam?

brookie
04-06-2011, 05:37 PM
Yes indeedy Neil and that applies to ANYBODY else!

With the format of this event being FTD based and with at least TWO rounds of qualifying being included in the schedule for the Sunday drivers still have a chance of making a final with their best run.

We have a couple of drivers who are already planning on attending the event on this basis, we, the club or other volunteers, will just have to cover their marshal positions on the Saturday of the event.
So absolutely no problem and please do not let this put you off from attending as the situation can be managed.
You also still be able to participate in the MEGA Raffle we have planned as the tickets, with the first prize potentially being a VERY serious piece of kit (!) NOT being drawn until sometime on the Sunday!

Hope to see you ALL there, whatever day or days you can attend!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

OMG! Wait 'til you see what has been arranged for both all entrants and the winners themselves! Pictures will follow soon! :woot:
Remembering that awards will be presented to the winners of 2WD, 4WD and SCT, the top three in the U14 and U19 classes as well as in the Concourse Competition.
And don't forget that there is also a MEGA Raffle over the weekend with some potentially VERY exciting prizes! :woot:

So get those entries to this unique racing experience in ASAP, any issues with entering please do not hesitate to mail us at the generic inbox on the Eden Park Raceway website, here: http://www.edenparkraceway.com/

or by contacting either MattADH or myself on here!

Hope to see you there!

Before anybody panic's we are aware that this listing is not a 'wholly complete' listing as we know of others that have expressed an interest to us personally and this interest has been duly noted.
We are also aware of a few withdrawals!

Anybody who is having problems either with the on-line booking-in functionality or being able to pay on-line can PM either MattADH or myself on here to ensure their inclusion but please be assured that your entry (and payment!) will be accepted during booking-in Saturday (or Sunday if you can only do the one day!) shorts and sun cream for Sunday me thinks!

Following on-going discussions with our landlords, Club Langley, we can confirm the following:

Changing Rooms with shower facilities and toilets will be open, for the exclusive use of attendees to the TLR Super Cup, will be open, from Friday PM, for the entire duration of the event.

The Cafe/Bistro, located inside the club house, will be open from 08:30 until; approx. 15:30 both Saturday and Sunday for the provision of hot and cold drinks and food, snacks and sometimes a selection of cakes.
From personal experience we can highly recommend their sausage  and bacon  baguettes which have kept us going through many a long hour trackside! They will also be offering burgers, all of these available at restricted and reasonable prices!

Can I also take this opportunity to remind those that are camping or caravanning over the weekend of the £5 per night fees that will be collected during the weekend to cover the costs of the facilities.

Finally we have been made aware of some essential British Gas work that will be starting in Hawksbrook Lane (our access road) from Saturday 25.06, though this may have some impact on our event we have been assured by Club Langley that there will be access to the Club and that British Gas know we are coming! Personal permitting we may try and get an EPR individual out in the Lane to marshal attendees in.

What a fantastic weekend.
Great atmosphere - great track and great weather. Too many people to thank so I apologise if I leave anyone out:blush: but...

Thanks to every competitor who turned up, raced and just had a good time - the race format might have seemed a little old skool for some of our younger generation of racers but I think it contributed to a superb, relaxed yet competitive feel for the event.
Special thanks to the EPR crew for a wonderful track and superb pre-race organization and to Mr Shouty Man who again ran a faultless meeting and again demonstrated why we all have so much respect for him.

Thumbs up to Rude Tony for his support (both on and off the track) - I'll let you have that one matey - 1-0 to you :p

And to Blitz who will help us all benefit for Andy Langdon's new colours:p

Big Up to Steve Brace who helped out in more ways than he knows and to all the TLR / Horizon guys for being great fun to pit with.

I met many friends and made many new ones which has to be the best reward for the whole event. And finally - to Terry, a massive thank you for your generosity - it means so much to me that I'm totally blown away - thank you.
Hope to see you all around the race tracks soon - all holding your TLR Super Cups throughout the winter series and beyond...

OMG - Did you say Andy has a new paint job at last??

I'll be able to watch my Racing God now without cringing at his minging self-help paint jobs!!

Glad to hear everyone enjoyed it, and Gnarly - it was good of you to back off the pace a bit and let some others get into the top three :p

Thanks to the EPR team for all the hard work they put in for this meeting. It was a long but fun weekend, good time with mates and had fun racing. Have to say after the heat and camping for a couple of days was glad to get in the shower when I got home

Hope everyone that came along enjoyed the meeting as much as I did and finally thank you for supporting the event

A massive thank you to EPR & Horizon for all the hard work that had obviously gone into making the first TLR Supercup the huge success it was

It was my first time ever racing a buggy and wouldn't have made it past the first day without the help and advise so cheerfully given by Gharly Old Dog and Chris Delves, big thanks guys, your stars and a credit to Horizon, thank you. I had a fantastic weekend, loved every minute of it:D

Gharly, your more than welcome matey, they say in life you only get back what you put in, and it was MY pleasure to be able to give you something back :) Hope you get a chance to use them.

Keith

Made me laugh......."Racing God", more like "Racing Idiot"

Actually, there have been several offers for my shell. Ellis offered me £300, Trish £350 and Losi wanted to use the spray job as the "face" of the TLR 22.

Your just jealous.

Regards

Andy

It's amazing what some people will pay just to keep something off the street - or the track in this instance.

I say ignore them Andy - they're your colours and you should be proud of them.

Besides, it'll be a real test for Graham to see if he can replicate them for you

It wouldn't be the same if you changed your colours

A report and pictures are coming soon. We'll post a link as soon as we can.

Ellis ran both the Tamiya and the Kyosho - it didn't seem to make much difference to him - he was too fast with both of them.

Danny ran him close and to be fair, TQ was being shared between the pair of them throughout the event in both 2WD and 4WD but E loves FTD for a reason and he made it count when he had to.

But hats off to the pair of them. It could have gone either way (IMO) and it was great to see such good qualifying battles where the racers weren't trying to protect an in-round position but going flat out for the single fastest time.

Awesome.

Yep! There were several photographers on site during the weekend, representing the host club, EPR, RCC Racer Magazine and HH UK, there must have been hundreads of images taken which I'm sure all parties are currently working there way through, so watch this space or related web sites for more details!

Big E ran 2 x 4WD! 511 and Kyosho, in fairly equal amounts from what I saw!

And Mr. Langdon, we will be checking that you use those vouchers, we won't let you forget!

I will make this comment short and sweet and in a way that it can never be mis-understood!!

"SUPERB in every detail"

EPR organisers and Horizon personnel should be real proud of your efforts and achievements......ps - I am sure I got more monies worth of stuff in my entry goodie bag than my entry fee - LOL
