i see some drivers are using the stock motor profile on there speedo,s with 7.5 turn motors to get more speed or torque is this safe to do or only for these people that can replace motors easily.

It's safe as long as you keep an eye on temps. I ran my gt2 with Tom Cockerill's settings from the SP website at silverstone last weekend. I found it too aggressive for me and gradually turned everything down throughout the day untill most settings were on the minimum. Was still easily quick enough with it turned right down. The 'stock' profile won't kill your motor, the levels you set might. The best thing to do is load the profile you want to try onto you speedo but set all the levels low, then gradually ease them up if you need a bit more speed but have a temp gun handy to check your motor temp at the end of each run and turn the overheat protection on in the ESC's setting to make sure that doesn't melt.

I've been experimenting with something similar too ... actually found it possible to get a nice smooth feel which was my motivation for doing it in the first place.

HobbyWing speedos (same but cheaper) and Orion motors.

i tried the setup that tom cockerill used and it just fired the rear tyres off rims
