Slash 2WD rear diff

Hi All

I want to make the rear diff less loose. I tried some Diff oil (20k) but that doesnt seem to do the trick. Should I use grease or something else?

There's two good options to tighten the rear planetary diff on 2wd slash
Either invest in a one way from hot racing that will stop any diff counter rotation completely or if that feels like too big a jump fill the diff with blue tak
Be careful though as both options will put more strain on your outdrives and ultimately affect the temps your system runs at due to the resistance placed on the external gears output ratio

Both methods will give more direct drive at the price of a slightly twitchy arse end when throttle is applied out of corners

I have also been told Tamiya AW grease is excellent to fit in the diff as its a little less brutal than Bluetac

The blutac method is a rather extreme one in some cases, although some of our lads have found that the diff will still counter rotate under load just a lot less than a standard oiled set up. The stock traxxas planetaery diffs have a tendency to shred quickly when run in anger with just diff lube in them.

Ultimately I think its down to how much diff slip you feel you want, if your lacking straight line throttle pick up of the mark then locking the little bugger with def sort that. If you just want to 'calm' the back end down a bit then a super heavy diff oil (perhaps tamiya?) Will help.

I found both methods work well,just watch those temps the tighter you go on your diff
