i bought a madrat to try 10th buggies for fun,it came with a 21t brushed motor and 3800nimh battery, its very slow and would be no good watsoever to race,it needs brushless and lipo i knoe, but what turn motor should i get to be on pace,8.5t? or lower.a hobbywing combo is reasonably priced, any thoughts and ideas to get it to go please.

An 8.5t will be on the pace.
Make sure you fit proper bearings first though.

hi if you have the money i would put in a trinity 8.5 motor an orca vritra pro spec mk11 esc with program card as this has turbo so you can push the motor to a 6.5ish when and if you every need too and a savox 1258 servo. RC Lazy did me a good deal of £250.00 for the whole lot. also about 100g under ther servo and about 20g by the bat this transformed my rat.

Don't think it would be worth going much lower than an 8t motor because it probably wouldn't make the laptimes any quicker, just make the car more of a handfull to get round a track.
I'm running a 9t ezrun in mine for the time being & it's as quick as anything, some have even said it's too quick - probably as the car is 95% kit standard.

thanks for all the advice,i really do appreciate it,im pretty sure im going for an ezrun 8.5t combo as its a good price and alot of people are using them, its just a bit of fun for me to race it now and then and enjoy the buzz rather than get serious and spend a fortune to be competetive.so thanks again for the advice.

There are plentiful amounts of fake ezRuns on eBay at the moment so be careful.
One seller I believe should be avoided is " Abeyss " who also uses the " demon_2 " username.
I don't own one, but have been told that the versions with a clear switch are counterfeit.
There are other discrepancies in comparison to the real deal too.
This is typical of the Chinese so keep your eyes peeled
