Is the HPI aluminium steering rack the only aftermarket rack available for the Blitz? Just starting out and on a tight budget too, the HPI one seems quite pricey. Any pointers appreciated - thanks.

For a complete rack there is the STRC one:

You could buy the steering arm made by CRC as this the the part prone to break on the stock plastic steering.

If you are on a budget there are a few improvements you can make to the original.
On mine I have spent £26 on a more powerful / quicker savox servo and have tightened the standard servo saver down to allow less give. It now holds well under fast turns, the turning circle is half the size and is more responsive to stick input.

DomSmith,
If you have tightened the servo saver be prepared to break the steering arm (the part of the servo saver with the ball stud), it is very weak.

Both me and a friend broke it shortly after tightening the servo saver.

I haven't tightened it totally down. Just halfway between stock and locked. I have raced it every week for the last 2 months and its held out. I am running the RTR version which uses the more flexible black parts. not sure if thats helping out at all?

Ours are also RTRs. I tightened it more than you and I think my friend did too. It just flexed until it tore.

Maybe yours will last, just keep an eye one it because it is a weak part.

Hi Avner
You had me all paranoid last night about it breaking. There was a double jump at the Moto Arena and it was taking some real punishment. I think Im going to buy a spare to keep in the box.

If you are running a RTR Blitz a nice upgrade is to add the white ESE swing arms. this helps to sharpen up the handling as the black ones have a lot of flex.
Also heard the RPM versions are good.

HPI Firestorm arms (fronts if I'm not mistaken) are also stiffer.

Right now I running a Losi XXX-SCT and the Blitz is my backup so I'm not doing much tinkering with it.
