BRILLIANT NEWS!!!

The Manningtree Car Show is on! Colchester Model Car Club have picked up the reigns for 2011 and will be bringing their timing system and providing the track.

A chance to show your RC cars in a racing event with spectators (real, unpaid, non-rc related spectators!!!). It's like formula 1, but better. As your cars are cheered around the track (mostly for their attractive colours as opposed to sheer driving prowess).

It's on the 19th June this year, which is a clear 2 months later than previous years and that means even better weather is likely, which means even more people. It's fathers day, so you get to drag the whole family along and instead of them "having" to enjoy it, they will.

Huge Bar B Q, Beer tent, Military vehicles, classic cars, sports cars, motorbikes. But most importantly, 1:10 Electric Off Road Racing!

Book in via Colchester Model Car Club Forum, or www.brca-eoe.co.uk (http://www.brca-eoe.co.uk)

All the details will be posted through Colchester Model Car Club (http://www.colchestermodelcarclub.co.uk), MORErc (http://www.morerc.co.uk), BRCA-EoE (http://www.brca-eoe.co.uk), Twitter (http://twitter.com/#!/search/BRCA_EoE) and here on oOple

The 1:10 Off Road GP, started back in 1989. Since then it grew, before transferring to the Manningtree Car Show after a petition of 60,000 members of the public signed an order, demanding greater public access to watch the countries best talent.

Leading columnists in many of the world’s largest print media have commented that; the great Banking Crash of '07 has only avoided causing a worldwide depression because of the Manningtree Car Show in '08. A battle between club champions not only raised the stakes, but also the Kudos and the prestige of such achievements whilst diverting the attention away from the world’s troubles.

Some say that '09 suffered because of the great spectacle of '08 and the battle for supremacy between "club champions". Others say that it suffered because second place was not the people’s choice and rumours of "pit-tinkering" must be the reason for such an odd runner-up result. To quote a disgruntled bystander with money on 3rd place, "surely, surely he must have cheated"

But turn the page to what has already gone down as history's greatest show on earth. Irish/Italian Sports and Pulitzer Prize writer, Ray De O'Crystal said in his weekly column, "A driver whose talent is never underrated by himself". 2010 was the year that the MCS really took hold as one of the major sporting events in the international calendar and has been said that it, rightfully went to the best, most talented, most deserving driver.

With his modesty too small to be sponsored, let alone find enough space for a sticker - will anyone be able to take the title off him in 2011.

You forgot, 2007------------Dave Evans;)

I wasn't sure which event it was in 2007 that was taken to the MCS. Was it Dave that caused the financial collapse then!

Are you thinking about coming along Mr M? Get some dust blown of the cars in preparation for the following weeks shennanigans at MERCC;)

The logistics involved is great and a meeting of this nature really requires, at the very least, reasonable support for it to be worthwhile.

Due to the lack of numbers, it is with regret that Colchester Model Car Club are knocking this meeting on the head.

Maybe next year....................................
